Listened through a few times the post-apocalyptic urban techno soundscape that is the new Linkin Park album. I'm sure the Hybrid Theory / Meteora fans are up in arms, but I am finding myself really appreciating the album as a whole. The whole is definitely much more than the sum of its parts. I'll admit, I was slightly disappointed to hear real drums in only a couple of spots on two tracks total, but I have way too much respect for the band to get bent out of shape over it.
A lot of bands tend to change sounds as they either mature, or become less capable of performing like they have previously. But Chester still throws screams in here and there, and if anyone ever had a sneaking suspicion that he can't sing like he used to, their closing track is this little acoustic bit:
