I've frequently been told I'd like Múm, what album should I get first?

depends. if you prefer more glitchy electronic stuff start with Yesterday Was Dramatic - Today is OK. if you prefer more indie/post-rock/experimentalish stuff check out Finally We Are No One. they are really really good and have this totally cute HAPPY CHILDHOOD vibe (songs with titles like "Don't Be Afraid, You Have Just Got Your Eyes Closed").

coolio, I've gone for Yesterday Was Dramatic..., I'm pretty picky when it comes to outward post-rock but I'm a lot more partial to experimental electronic/a...if they're anything like M83 or Four Tet like last fm seems to think they are I should like them

Oh I should say "thanks ^_^" or something now right? Thanks!

it's less POST-ROCK and more glitchy electronica with melodies that sound like post-rock/occasional moments that sound reminiscent of Sigur Rós (mostly in the strings). i haven't heard M83 or Four Tet but múm's closer to BOARDS OF CANADA than, say, Explosions in the Sky, if that helps. they've gotten progressively less electronic with later releases (their newest album has a lot of live instrumentation) but it's still more indie/IDM than post-rock.
