Water Transparency

Perhaps I'm missing something obvious, but... how do people make, say, a water autotile that's semi-transparent, and could be used over any tileset and allow you to see the ground underneath it? I've heard of people doing such a thing, but I don't really understand how. I have Photoshop, but I'm rather newbish with it, so... if someone could give me some help, I'd appreciate it. Or, if such a water autotile exists, that would be great too. ^_^

I think you can take the usual water auto tile and just lower their opacity in photoshop. Requires some minor editing on the tileset, though.

I actually did this once... I lost it a while back.. I'll remake it! It's a ten second edit. Do you want it slanted? or square?

It'd be cool to have both, I think. I'd definitely use both.
