War of Wasteland

Well, that's a small side-poject I'm working on, just to show my abilities, since my main project recruitment topic didn't call the interest of the community.

The game will be simple in the aspects of storyline and character's profiles.
I'm doing it on my own, I'm a Writer and Eventer, so the maps aren't very good and the graphics I've gathered from the Internet as well as the scripts( I'm still searching a Ammo Script that fits to the project).


Storyline
It could be much more improved, but I can't focus on two storylines, if I did it, they would be bad. But still I believe this game systems as well with the storyline are very enjoyable.

The year is 3,202 AD.
The world isn't the paradise that it was supposed to be.
The technology of the world could have made the world a peaceful place, full of happiness.
But humanity destroyed this paradise.
Humanity is greedy.
Humanity is thirsty for power.
And so, many wars were fought to satiate such thirst.
The present is the result of greed-driven bloodshed and destruction.
This is not paradise.
This is hell.
In this world, nature is a rare thing to behold.
Fresh air...
People don't breath such thing anymore.
Current technology is incapable of sustaining the whole world.
Only a small part of the world remains where people are still alive.
Their survival depends on but one thing: The Source.
The Source is made of Data that amplify and sustain barely-functioning technology.
The people gather Data through the Source Data Downloader.
And in desperate times, the people worked together to built the downloaders, so that humanity does not perish.
But after a few years have passed...
Humanity's greed acts once again.
This small piece of the world finds itself on the brink of war once more.
Two major corporations fight to gather more of the Source, unwilling to share the precious resources.
There is no peace.
There is no happiness.
There is no hope.
There is only... War.

Characters
The game is simple so the characters share quite the same virtues.

Veil - An Agent of Nidsga Corporation, brave and loyal to it's homeland. Very skilled, one of the best of Nidsga. He seeks the end of war, to bring peace to his comrades.

Lucia - Recently returned from Nidsga Treinament Facility, was the best soldier of her class. She shares the same objectives of Veil.

Brand - The best Spy of Nidsga. He is very inteligent, and he is a crucial character of the game. He only fight to serve Nidsga, and found out more about the old world.


Features

Different Level Up System - Trough the game you will find Warrior's Data Downloaders. By downloading it's data you gain more power.

Different Abilities System - Trough the game you will find Element Data Downloaders, to download it's Data you will need Element Data Disks, separeted in LV.1, LV.2 ans LV.3, the higher the level of the disk the powerful the Element Data you're able to download is. Once you download the Element Data you will need to equip it in order to use.
See the screen of the Element Data System and you'll understand it better.

SephirotSpawn Equipment Skills.

Screenie 1: Should read "What mission is that?"
Screenie 2: Hey, they painted the road lines over the debris! Also those barrels are really huge compared with the broken vehicles (not necessarily a bad thing, but definitely noteworthy).
Screenie 3: Looks nice. I might say something about contrast, but you're making use of standard RTP outdoor graphics in conjunction with dark, gritty dystopic characters, so that's to be expected. (Maybe you could disguise it with a very slight screen tint?)
 
Are those first two maps stolen from KNight Blade or do they just look very similar?

Edit:

In the second one, the street lines go over the car reckage pile. Guess they're not stolen after all.

Might want to fix that.
 
Yes, they're not stolen, maybe similiar, since it is very difficult atleast for me to make something different with this tileset, I'm using it because it is simple to use.

I like the third screen, I rarely see forests in futuristic games. I hate when everything is freeking dark and metal.

as for the story;

It was a bit hard to read. You should choose your words carefully to, remember, presentation is the key :)

The characters are fine. They are basicly agents working togather.

Shark_Tooth's right, during the story bit you could have a bit better grammar. I mean, "The humanity"? Just doesnt sound quite right.. maybe, The Human Race?

Also, just a coincidence.. but the abbreviation of your games title is WoW.. : P
 
No, you don't need to change the abbreviation. If your game was actually entitled World of Warcraft, then yeah I'd suggest you changed it but the abbreviation doesn't matter, as long as you don't use the abbreviation in general discussion, maybe just call it wasteland for short...

Your maps aren't too shabby master, well done. Personally I prefer a little more detail in the forets maps, but then other people prefer simplier maps, so you can never please everyone.
 
Thank you very much, but my mapping skill isn't really good, what I do is this, as I'm using KNight Blade tilesets, I've played the game many times and observed the maps a lot, so when I mapped for my game, like Despain said, they looked very similar to KNight Blade.
I mean, I look at styles and see wich I like most, and I try to make something similar, because I'm not a mapper, if I was, I'm sure it would be my pleasure to create my own style, I hope you all understand this.

In your story it said 3.202, is it three-thousand two-hundred two, or three and two-hundred two thousanths? and in Screen 2 what tileset did you use, can I have it for my game?
 
I didn't understand your question about the 3.202 thing.
The tileset is from KNight Blade, one of the sample games of RMXP, I think you can use freely, as long as you credit them of course.
Anyway, thank you for your comment.
 
I ve just finished this.
I'll test it now and see if there's any bug.

The game should be around 3-4.5 hours.

By tomorrow I'll post the link to the download.

The European system uses a "." as thousands placeholder and "," as decimal point, whereas the American system has "," for thousands and "." for decimals.
