it's about a robot who does his job and compresses garbage into little squares and cleans up the earth after humans have moved away. 700 years pass in this monotonous life until a probe robot comes to search the earth for plant life. a really adorable romance blossoms between the two robots and of course they end up having to thwart a plot and bring humans back to return the earth to its former glory.
i saw it tonight and was very excited. i mean pixar has an incredible track record. i absolutely LOVED last year's ratatouille, not to mention finding nemo, the incredibles, etc.
i was disappointed. :dead:
i mean it was GOOD but it certainly didn't live up to some of pixar's past movies, or at least it didn't live up to what i was expecting. a LOT of it did, though, especially the first twenty minutes or so. the interactions between wall-e and eve were fucking ADORABLE and the robot designs in this thing were really fucking good.
but the whole environmental message was WAAAY too blatant and over the top. especially after the happening and other movies, the whole thing is just being overdone to the point where it's just fucking annoying and even insulting. IF YOU ARE WATCHING THIS MOVIE YOU ARE A HUMAN AND THEREFORE ARE RUINING THE ENVIRONMENT GET OFF YOUR ASS AND EXERCISE.
as soon as the movie introduced the humans it seemed to really go downhill for me. the scenes with the robots really were able to keep their charm, but the rest of it was just too unbelievable and hard to really enjoy too much.
so talk about wall-e i guess
