[VX] Mirtinas Karas

Following the death of my other project: As The World Falls Away I thanks to a virus infecting my comp and memory stick, I quickly got to work on a new game. The name of it is Mirtinas Karas. Its coming along well for a game thats has been under short development periods that have gone on for two days. Read on for more information.


Story:
You play Ravon (initially). Ravon was a mercenary; until he decided to go his own way. Korporacija, a sick, scintific company was illegally performing experiments on humans and the planet gradually making the planet wither away. Only a few people knew of this, and Ravon getting a lot of info whilst being a mercenary, found out very easily. He broke into Korporacija HQ and killed a lot of people inside. But unfortunatley he was captured, and like the rest of the prisiners, experimented on. He will not say what they did to him but he was passed as a successful experiment. He was brainwashed, but his willpower allowed him to break free from the control and escaped from Korporacija. Unknown to many, Korporacija are preparing their army for a war over the planet. Its is not likely that they will lose as they have a massive army lead by 'The Three'... Ravon knows the company well from the years spent there so will he be the one to finish the war of Mirtinas Karas?

Characters:
[Ravon]
A successful experiment from Korporacija. He rebelled against Korporacija, not knowing the consequences that day...
He keeps himself to himself and mainly only talks to a mysterious voice that lives inside his head.

[The Voice]
A very informative voice that ended up inside Ravon's head after the experiments. The Voice sounds female and Ravon refers to it as if The Voice was female.

[The Three]
Three successful experiments. Nothing much is know about them apart from they are the strongest beings in existence.

Feedback please.

P.S.
I also have two questions for you:

1. Would you like a Materia System for magic and a CP System for skills, or would you like only one of the systems?

2. Would you like an ABS Battle System and a ATBS Battle System, would you like to be able to choose in game, or would you only like the ATB?

I don't really understand the story to say much about it. I like the screens though, and to answer you questions:

1. I don't know how either system is.
2. ABS sounds good.

Yeah the story is highly thought out, which becasue its means that I will not let out much about it. I will rewrite the Story section now.
 
Your title screen is a little abrasive on the eyes to me--I think that there's a little too much gradient and glow going on for my taste. I would suggest losing the little bubbles behind the words, tightening the selections up, and making the glow a little more transparent.

I'd also suggest maybe trying a different font for your in-game HUD, or use images instead of font. It looks very plain compared to the lavishness of your title screen.

To answer your questions:

1. I'd like to know what the difference between magic and skills is before I'd make a decision whether or not those systems were appropriate.

2. It already looks like you've committed to the ABS, but I'd suggest using the ABS right now given that there's only one character present--ATB with one person is boring as hell. I don't know what ATBS is.

You say your story is "highly thought out" but earlier in the post you say it's under development. If it's the former, then it shouldn't be too difficult to muster up a better synopsis of what's going to happen in the actual game. If it's the latter, you gotta let us know so we can help you out with concepts and the like.

Sorry for being unclear about the 'highly though out' bit. What I mean is that I rewrite the story to make it better alot. I don't mean a total rewrite but small sections rewrote as I go along to make the story piece together better.

There will be more charcters later on.

ATBS is the same as ATB.

There isn't much of a difference for skills and magic initially but if you add an option to equip skills when you've learnt them and equip magic once you have the item (materia) will add more depth to the game. That is why im asking.

The HUD is not permanent.
