Vista Issue, very frusterating

Hello. I recently have downloaded rpg maker xp and so far, the maker has worked fine. I can add tilesets, characters, events, etc. My problem is, every time i press playtest on the maker, the game pops up but remains black on the screen and i cant seem to do anything. I must open the tast manager to close the game. I have both the maker and the game on windows xp sp2 and both have "Run as admin" checked. I still seem to run into a problem and i have looked at many websites in search of a solution to this issue and have also checked the stickys on this section. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

this is all I can really say. Hoe long have you waited for the black screen. Sometimes it takes awhile. IS there a loading icon on your mouse pointer. If it just freezes, then maybe you did something wrong in the player.

IF this doesnt help you, try reinstalling it.

I have tried to wait for hours but still no luck. I tired reinstalling it a few times and i did all 3 things in the tutorial. The problem is the rgss player not responding.

I have this SAME EXACT problem. It's the audio. Try removing the music from your title screen and I bet it will work. I don't have a solution, but I'm in the same boat as you. I don't want a silent game. By the way, if you don't mind having to back out and play your game from the game.exe, that works too. If you come up with anything, please let me know.
