I love your interior farm set Venetia but the shadow color doesnt look right somehow in the applications picture you showed. Only when you added ambient lighting did it look great, in the previous picture i couldnt help but think it was wrong color. Im no pixel artist so if im wrong then by all means flame me XD but i am an artist so normally i have a nack for finding some kind of small fault with something and this is mine XD sorry, like i said i still think its great.

Cant wait for the spiral staircase to be finished but i think the reason no one has made one is because you couldnt ever use it in your game unless it was done in a cut scene as a series of pictures or something. Anyway i love it, please keep adding to it ^_^

Wow, I just noticed... the Aurites. They're an interesting breed... a cross between a greyhound and a llama, perhaps? They'll look nice when shaded. If shaded, of course.

EDIT: Sorry, I meant textured.

DOUBLE EDIT: Sorry, I meant the Sedriks. Geez I'm not doing too well today... I guess it's time to stop posting. :P

Update - 1-7-08 ... Not anything for general use, but more work on Nephthys has been done in the Misc. Junk: Second Sun section.

I am currently working on a Jungle-farm exterior, as well as an HK Construction Kit project, for the public, so don't think I've forgotten you!!!

------------------

@ Everyone: Thank you for your continued support & comments!

@ Ratty524: Aw, I think they're hot. Well, maybe because I created them ... :P. The next creature, the Inite, isn't nearly as "unique". That'll be popping up here eventually.

@ Red Dawn: Changes to the MogHunter scripts ... Well, mostly text placements. A few changes to make them compatible with Charlie Lee's battle system, a few edits to the picture names/paths, some text shadow/font/size changes, some changes in animation timing/transitions, a few alterations on movement paths for cursors, and a complete translation into English (because the Portuguese was driving me nuts for some reason). Nothing particularly special, that even someone with mediocre/n00b script-editing capabilities (like myself) couldn't do!

@ Devro: It's the basic "shadow" color that almost all RTP uses. It's all the same HEX, so if you select all of the same color and change it, it won't mess anything up. But I use that shadow color for pretty much everything.

@ samboy: lol yeah, the Sedriks. I still am meaning to work on that. So many projects, so little time ...

Catch ya later :)

The new sprite is AMAZING.  Like I'm not even JOKING.

The shading is perfect, the form is perfect, it's perfect.

The animations are pretty kick ass too.  :)  I really can't wait for your game!  It looks top-notch.  You've really put a lot of effort into this stuff! :)

@ Elias: I'm working on it as fast as I can ... It's tough to make every piece of art custom! x_x
But most of it is fun :). I just think eventing is more fun ... I can't wait to really get down to it for this project.

So you used script lighting effect  or something else? I want them .
the map really nice !

Well I do the lighting using screen tones and fog layers that act as shadow layers. You take a screenshot of the map, open it in PSP (or Photoshop, whatever), combine screens if necessary. Then, make a new layer. Select all, then deselect all wall interiors. Fill with a shadow color at 50% (or so) opacity. Then select the color, and use the Erase tool around areas that need light. Soften if necessary, add opacity in areas if necessary. Then delete the background layer so it's a transparent PNG. Save in your Fogs folder. Make sure the image size is the same as your map size--it needs to be identical! (i.e. if your map is 20x20, your shadow image needs to be 640x640pix.) Set it up in RMXP, whether by events, or just on the Tileset tab. Adjust the screen tone if necessary. Voila! "Ambient" lighting, the easy way :).

It's not fool-proof; unless you use a certain script, the shadows will ALWAYS appear over the player. So you need to utilize both the tileset's shadows AND the shadow layer.

Hope that helps :)

Wow, everything looks pretty good. I'm especially liking the Moghunter screenie rips or whatchamacallit.

Um, quick question though. How do you integrate the font's once you download them and what programs can they be integrated into?

? What do you mean? You should have the fonts you install instantly available in every program (some programs you may need to restart, but not RMXP, since it's the scripts that need changing)?

You're putting them in the Fonts folder in your Windows directory, right?

Heh heh, ... funny how that works, I'll look for that folder and see if I can't figure this out ... If my memory serves me right I believe I saw that particular folder in Control Panel. Thanks, and I'm really looking forward to that Jungle Farm Exterior and Construction Pack.

Oh hi! I have taken a look at the things you made and they are really awesome! Can I use any of these tilesets and autotiles, please? And of course I will credit you.;)

At the bottom of the first post is all my credit information. You're allowed to use (most) of the resources as you like except commercially. No commercial use. Thanks :)

HOLY JESUS. This may be my fifth or sixth post in this thread, but those animations are AMAZING. The climbing through the window, the looking around, and the expressions... oh my god. I'm trying my hardest not to be blasphemous or make a sexual metaphor involving ejaculation... I might even have to borrow these... in attempt to recreate my own. This is by far the best pixel work I have seen on RMXP.org. This is truly a godsend.

Well I don't mind using Nephthys as a reference, but she's specifically for Second Sun only :). The window anim didn't take very long, only about 3-4 hours over two days, and that's probably counting in frequent "turn-around-to-watch-TV" breaks :P. Although the way her legs are, it'll only be physically possible to make some of those poses if you're an Aurite!

The shading is a little wonky in some places, but each frame only lasts like a quarter of a second so it works pretty okay. :D

No no, not as in a "stealing" borrowing... just as a reference. I seriously can't wait for a demo, Ven. If you get hit by a car or fall off a bridge, all the members of RMXP.org will become emo.

EDIT: I think Nephthys wouldn't fit in with Germans and Americans in World War Two... but you'd be surprised. Some of the shitty plots of most of the WW2 games that've come out lately...

DOUBLE EDIT: Are there going to be any male Nephthys in your game? Just a question, concerning how they reproduce in this place. Sorry if you haven't thought this far ahead...

Actually I've written about 250+ pages of a novel involving the world they're on. Second Sun is the "prequel" to the novel. Nephthys is a person; her species is called an Aurite. The game is about her spearheading a sort of coup d'etat against the leaders of her country. Her people (the Aurites) and the Inites (yet to be put up here) have been forced into slavery by the Urucites (which're basically human, because I'm lazy). Additionally, the Sangrinites (think Nosferatu-types which eat flesh instead of drinking blood) have been hunted nearly to extinction, so she gets a few of them on her side, too.

There's a lot more to it than that but that's the gist of what's going on in the world. There are male Aurites, but they're extremely rare outside of Breeding Ranches, so I haven't made their templates yet.

So I guess Nephthys is kind of a Harriet Tubman or something, just with backward-bent legs and a much nicer rack :P

Thanks for inquiring :D
