Let's start with the big news

Spoiler: Valkyrie Profile 3 for the DS

Apparently, you play a man who hates the gods (And thus, the valkyries. Lenneth will obviously be an antagonist), and seeks to destroy Odin with the help of the godess of the Underworld. The gameplay seems like it'll be a tad more traditional. Whether that's a godsend or not, is up to you.

Now...for the not-so-big news...

Spoiler: Resident Evil 0 for the Wii

Apparently, Resident Evil 0 is getting a remake...for the Wii. All I can really ask about this is..."Was this really needed?". Considering that the Gamecube version isn't even rare, do we really need a direct port, to the WII of all consoles? I'd understand if it was the PS3, or the 360, but the Wii? That's a bit odd if you ask me.

About RE:0, It's not really odd, I mean, the Wii is all about how controls, so I think it's pretty cool for them to release some of their best titles onto the Wii as it will be much funner playing them using your hands, lol.

Just my opinion though...

VP:3 - Never played the first two, probably won't play this one either lol.

Its a shame, since the original VP is one of my favorite games ever.

Bottom line, bring Quintet back. They (unlike TriAce) know how to make good sequels.

Edit: Also, how the HELL is VP3 not hitting the psp? I thought Sony had rights to it?

By traditional, I mean that the storyline is more linear. It's not open-ended like VP1.

Uh, if the story of the third one is meant to be centered around the eldest sister, Hrist, what affiliation does she have with this?

Well, I think this VP is gonna be a spin-off, more than a sequal. Though you never know.

The non-linear storyline and sidescrolling aspects was the biggest appeal of the original Valkyrie Profile as well as playing as an immortal and her holy warriors.  The fact that this new game casts you as "angry dude with sword" and has a linear storyline just puts in the pile of generic jRPGs that already litter the market.

I agree. What set VP apart was that the main character wasn't some stereotypical JRPG hero. I also agree with the fact that VP's non-linearity was it's biggest selling point. So this new VP is, most likely, going to fail.

Also, am I the only one who thinks that the RE:0 Wii port is a waste of money/time?

I don't even want to talk about Resident Evil:0, I don't know how many times my partner died when I walked into another room, and they decided to fall pray to a single zombie, or something. The AI really sucked, and that was one of the things that pissed a lot of people off. If they fix that, and the controls up a bit, then I don't think the port will be too bad, because then, it'll actually be playable.

Idk, I just thought it was way too differant from the original. Sometimes it works in a series, sometimes it doesnt, I mean look at Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross. Perfect example of how it should work (well actually since there are only 2 chrono games...)
