I'm building up a house from scratch, step by step. I'm hoping by the end I'll have a glorious street of houses on a map in RM2K3. It's just for a bit of fun and for a project that I know I will never finish (same one as my steampunk enemies are for), but I thought I'd post up WIP shots as I go about making the house. I'm going for a tall, thin and rickety looking steampunk design with lots of those funky tudor overhangs and dented roofs.
Because the RM2K3 chipsets have limited space, I'll only be making 1 or two specific houses and then filling the rest of the set up with non-descript standard tiled buildings. To keep the map unique and interesting, I'm hoping to create an array of house tops on a fixed panorama and have inaccessible areas of the map flooded with all of the detail I wouldn't be able to get on the chipset itself. That's the plan.![Smile :) :)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
Here some shots I've got so far as I go through the house design.
Fleshing out the design to a 16x16 grid and then getting palette/design of the walls sorted out.
Creating a different texture for the brick walls and wood
Added in more detail onto the front wall, added shade to the brick wall and started filling in more roof tiles.
Enjoy
