unique question

have you guys ever seen an effect for night, to make it look like there is moonlight? or would you have any nice ideas on how to achieve this?

And i know about the tint screen function, I just wanted to know if there was some xtra trick i could use maybe with fogs ro something. i dont know. just wondering

I'm sure that it could be achieved by simply tinting the screen. Using less colors, more gray and maybe a tad bit more blue than green, or red. If you want something more, you could make a sun beam effect(use the search button.), but maybe more translucent. Hope I was helpful.

The reason why it might not seem to work is because moonlight and sunlight shine different. Sunlight is sharp and directional - hence why you draw golden sunbeams. Moonlight is soft and diffused, so the overall effect is a more rounded and silver.

If you want to go for a more realistic effect, you should probably make a picture similar to the "flashlight" effect people use, only silver. Center it over the moon and adjust the size according to the map. The brightest point will be the moon, but it will still be a very soft glow. The size of your moon will determine the degree of brightness and the diameter of the lit-up area.

Picture overlay allows you to control all this better, but you can also use screen-tint and a fog/picture if you'd prefer.
