Here's my thread for my entry for the 5-Year contest called "Under The Rug". I've decided to go with the "giant world" theme and will be making this about 2-3 hours using RMXP. I'll be updating this periodically as I work on the project more, so feel free to check in once in awhile!
Synopsis: Professor Gyro is an inventor living in Clockwork City. in his youth, he was once applauded as being one of the finest minds in science. Humorously, the old codger seems to have lost a bit of his touch as now in the present day he tinkers away with inventions that often malfunction or just quite aren't to par with his prior works. Today, however, he experiments with what he calls his "Shrinkification Machine", a machine designed to shrink whatever is placed inside of it. The Professor's intent is quite noble; he wants to use his machine to shrink down the rising garbage and debris that has begun to plague the town. With such an environment-friendly motive, nothing could go wrong right? . . . . Unfortunately for the slightly eccentric Professor, the machine doesn't work in his initial testing and he gives up on it believing that he no longer has the ability to create good things. His lab assistant, Travis and his Boston Terrier Louie are instructed to shut the machine down and close the lab for the day. Our adventures begins when Louie runs into the machine's entryway forcing Travis to give chase, and sure enough, the Professor's machine malfunctions and actually turns on while both are inside! What will happen to Travis and his dog Louie? How will they return to normal? And just why is a mysterious man spying from outside through a window? Find out in UNDER THE RUG!!

Name: Travis Tinkerton

Profession: Lab Assistant
Background: Travis has always been fascinated with tinkering with the way things work. At an early age he was always following Professor Gyro around watching him build and create new things. When he got older, the Professor finally agreed to take Travis in as his assistant and ever since then, Travis has loyally worked under the inventor. His dog, a Boston Terrier named Louie tags along wherever he goes and has been adopted as sort of an "assistant to the assistant". A bit headstrong and adventurous, Travis is ready to take on the world with a bit of ingenuity!

Age: 5
Profession: . . . Boston Terrier?
Background: Louie is an ever loyal Boston Terrier that helps Travis in his duties as lab assistant. He has a bit of a mischievous streak and inadvertently gets himself into situations that Travis has to fix. This situation is no different as he gets both his master and himself shrunk down to microscopic size!
Name: "GEAR" (Gyro's Enormously Awesome Robot)
Age: Like a few months . . . probably?
Profession: Robotic Helper
Background: GEAR is one of the few inventions the Professor has created in his later years that sorta' kinda' works. A malfunction in it's programming causes it to have a cowardly personality that can conflict with the tasks it's given. Professor Gyro can communicate through GEAR using a hologram that emits from it's eyes and mouth. Although a bit of a cowardly robot, GEAR serves the Professor and even Travis loyally.

Profession: Professor/Inventor
Background: Once a renowned inventor and scientist, Prof. Gyro spends his later years trying to create something extraordinary that can benefit mankind. While the Professor has good intentions, unfortunately, a mixture of malfunctions and his eccentric personality all attribute to less-than-stellar creations. His newest creation, what he calls his "Shrinkification Machine" could be his greatest invention yet? Right?
Name: Mysterious guy who stereotypically spies on the lab
Age: I dunno . . . he's mysterious!
Profession: Mysterious Lurker
Background: Not much can be said about this guy until I actually reveal who he is in game, but let's just say he's probably going to be the antagonist of the game. Sound good? Good.
