Uh Hey

Hey im Sharpie Mark, i've been around these forums for about a month (less posting and more looking) after I got RMXP after saving $60, I went on the web to look for Forums and came across this site. I like it here alot, but i'm to late of a bloomer to make a game, I mean theres only so many resources and plus im not the best spriter.

Well thats mostly my 2 cents...

P.S. should I bother to make a first game? I mean im not best at importing maps and dealing with the X and O's plus it would be the defult maps and i read everyone hates them...

Welcome.

I don't get this. If you make a game for the first time it will be your "first game" regardless of whether you call it that or not.

I ment as i was searching in the forums 1 topic had alot of people posting things like "the map sets that come with RMXP suck and I wont play a game if it has them" so now i feel I should trash my idea

Sorry for the confusion

P.S thanks guys for welcomeing me

You can't learn how to do something unless you try it.  You don't need anything custom for your first game (or at least it's not expected), but some people will be harsh if you want to post it.

Anyway, welcome. ^-^

Yeah. A lot of people on the forums are tired of the rtp default graphics. Yet, it really is just a matter of how you use the rtp. Most of the games on this site (the good ones and bad ones), use rtp, so don't let that comment wear you down. I'd suggest making a first game, but not posting it on the site, just to get associated with the program. Then once you think your skills can match some of the less criticized games on this site, go ahead and make one that you think you can post.

Anyway, good luck with whatever you decide to do here.
Edit: Guardian beat me too it :/

Yes, I see where you are coming from Neverplayd as even you and everyone else has been in the the postion i'am in right now...

But, what if I post a Demo of my first game, i could use feedback as a way of incoorperating what my main Focas can be to work on. It could be the map size, scripits, charactors (not Arshes), ect...

Then my first game could transform into something really intresting, but we're all jumping the gun here. I mean this is only a introduction thread. If I feel im up for the challange i'll post a over view of my game, and get feedback ect. But thats only if i choose to, i know it will take alot of bashing from left and right, such as a word is mispelled, and ect. One thing is for most, Im really not a fan of side view look, and already I know that is going to pose a problem in the near future as everyone has already dealt with it...

Thanks Guardian for the welcome, oh and your avatar, it's kick ass

If you have a game idea, you can always visit the Concept Development forum.  You're not expected to have graphics for your concept, so, if you want criticism just on your ideas, you can post there.  Of course, it's always acceptable to post a demo in the Project Discussion forum to get criticism on everything, too.  And no one here (except me, on occasions) cares about spelling mistakes.
