Two Gods whom governed space and time created a magical world called Celarina. Celarina featured two different lands; each land had its own nation and culture. The lands were separated by divine means so that the Gods could monitor each race’s progress on their own.

Behold, for there are two levels in Celarina.

The Goddess of Dawn created the land above – the tranquil, sky-faring world of Everleryn. It is where nature and peace chooses to flourish. Although the nation is not advanced in technology and means of combat, they are very content and no wars had ever occurred. Everleryn is very beautiful, sprawling across the nation are numerous waterfalls, rivers, ancient structures and mountains.

The God of Twilight created the land below – the magical and, once, breathtaking world of Elumina. The people here were given the gift of magic and most – if not all, know it the minute they are born. Practically everyone practices magic on a daily basis, and there are many mercenaries wielding heavily enchanted weapons. In fact, some wizards have reached a level of mastery close to that of a Demi-God.

Consequently, countless wars had occurred. It is ridiculous as some wars were merely a grudge between leaders, and others were held fun or just to see who is the more competent nation. Recently, there was huge catastrophe that conjured up many evil beings. No one knows whom or what caused it or where the beings came from, but all the nations had to settle their grievances and form a global alliance.

The once glorious land is now barren and dark, riddled with a race of grotesque evil beings named the Ateran. Countless raids and sieges by the Ateran occur on a daily basis. Not only that, the Ateran has plans of taking the battle to Everleryn to expand their territory.

This is a story about the adventures of a boy who grew up in Everleryn.




Hi guys.
I was a Starcraft and WC3 Mapper just got RMXP a few weeks ago. I am making my first ever RM project and I have plans to make this game a very enjoyable gaming experience. I am recruiting to get things done quicker and it might be more fun with people on the team instead of just myself.

All feedback and questions regarding any aspect of the game is appreciated.

So without further ado...

The RPG will feature
• Semi-Sandbox RPG, lots of quests that give the player a sense of accomplishment and reveals more history / plot the more you complete them. Many treasures and dungeons to plunder.
• A highly captivating story with lots of twists, surprises and emotional sways. A lot of mystery that will slowly uncover itself as game progresses. Romantic story with the option to choose your partner. Genuine humourous lines that breaks off the tension right when it builds up.
• Highly creative pixel art, mapping and illustrations.
• Custom music that makes you feel the atmosphere, and custom BGS sounds which makes you think you are actually in the game.
• Enemy detection system. You can also sneak behind an enemy and launch an initiative if you are not detected!

• A taste of the story's mystery, be warned, a lot of spoilers.
— A brother that the protagonist does not know about but has power to contact him through a spiritual link power.
— Protagonist's father is a hidden identity not revealed until much later in the game.
— A corrupted general in the enemy forces of Atera who still has a bit of sanity left in him... who knows how he will turn out.
— A messenger from another continent that is unknown to all of Everleryn. Her identity is concealed until much later.
— A prodigy scholar/ magus with a twisted personality, he helps the protagonist but will his friendship last?
— Time will stop flowing in Everleryn, how could this affect things?
— And much more :)

An ordinary boy raised in Everleryn. Rini is a good-natured and ambitious hunter, who is under the apprenticeship of his father. Hunting is frowned upon in Everleryn and many people look down on his family's ways.

A little update of stuff I done during the weekend. Trying to work on the framework before I make quests and more cutscenes.

Changes Include:
- Changed the look of the tileset to a more cartoonish and anime-like style. Not 100% done yet so it might look a bit glitchy.
- Minimap system which is togglable using the R button.
- Location bar, which varies in colour depending on whether the location is hostile or not.
- Battle system tweaks such as the camera and formations.
- Changes to the CMS which organises books. Currently have Journal and Beastiary.
- Scalable level system to provide a more sandbox RPG feel.

A lot of minor graphical errors and stuff, also the menus are not all consistent, but i'm working on it :)

A New tech demo involving a Cutscene of Senyn vs the two scouts from Atera. Also revamped the battle system.

This will branch into a sidequest that involves you trying to find the cure for your dad in under 2-3 days. If you find the cure in that time, a new sidequest will open because you manage to prolong your dad's life. He tells you a sword he hid elsewhere.

Showcasing what I have done during this week on the project.
- Added a lot of new scripts including systems like the CMS from Star Ocean 3. Please note that the summons/ tactics/ quests are not coded correctly as of now.
- New Areas / Mapping
- A musician called Akamizu is helping me out, and has composed the Evergrace's town music!

I learnt a lot recently about scripting and such, but I would really like to have an advanced scripter join the team.

The story although kinda cliched, seems to be interesting to me. It looks like you thought it out well and figured everything out, good job. Your maps are nice, although they could use some improvement. You really cluttered the mushrooms and yellow flowers and you were a little symmetrical. Also, in the battle screenshot, it was kinda awkward to see the heroes hanging above like that, so you might want to change it's position.

I can help with mapping if you want. I'll post some screenshots of what I can do here if you want or by PM. With some improvement, this game can be awesome. ^^
 
Sounds great. I can sure use terraining help if you're good. Since I'm new with this tileset thing :)
So I'm basically looking for a beautiful portrayal of Everleryn and an apocalyptic portrayal of the 2nd part of the game set in Arganoa. Did you map for Wendia ? (your sig) because that game's got awesome terraining.

It's up to you how you post it, I don't mind.

Hehe, nope. I just support that game. ^^ And my mapping isn't perfect, but I can say it's decent.

Some new screens. I revamped the starting town and will change the story a bit to suit it. I am going to keep revamping until it reaches awesomeness :) And will try adding lighting effects somehow.

Battle System now near completion. You can swing a weap to get initiative and if you get caught from behind or the sides you go into a penalty battle.

I really think you should hold back on releasing the battle/mapping demo you've got up there. Never rush into sending out demos! I learned that the hard way. It's always good to wait until you have a full-fledged, at least one chapter long demo so people will look forward to playing the rest. Nobody cares about solely your mapping and battle system in your game. We want to see the actual game. Just some advice that will keep you from destroying your game's reputation. Also, if you need another mapper, I'll join your team. I'm good with indoor lighting effects and I think it's safe to say that my mapping is good as far as gameplay goes. And aesthetics of course. I might be able to squeeze in being an eventer. I'm not the best, but I can surprise myself at times, not to be conceited or anything.
 
Well its kinda like a tech demo for seeing the system, graphics and music. Anyway I'll take that in consideration when releasing real demos. Thanks for your interest and sure I could use a hand, just show me a demo of something you made. Don't you have another project you need to finish though? Because I think it's distracting if you work on two different projects at once.
 
I can definitely send you a demo of what I can do, but it depends if you want me to be a mapper or eventer? Both I'm good at, so it's up to you. And about the working on simultaneous projects, I can manage working on two at the same time. ;) Most of the time I'm stumped on one of my prjects so I work on a little bit of the other, so it wouldn't be a problem having both yours and my projects to work on because you'd actually know what you want me to do and I wouldn't have to think of what to do :)

Am I doing something wrong? Everyone that wanted to join the team was unreliable like... saying they want to do something but ended up not doing it... and flaked out on me :/
 
I am LOVING the look of this so far. The mapping is good, but in my opinion it looks too crowded. but that's just me. If your making it semi sandbox, perhaps you could try custom character creation?

Anyway, it's looking excellent so far, and I'll be keeping an eye on this in the future. I would ask if you need help with events, but they're easy to make anyway XD.
 
Ty and about custom creation, I dont know if its worth the effort because the character's sprite when fighting is based on an animated battler so it would make things hard.

I have corrected grammar on the prologue, it was quickly drafted before.

Oh ok. Well ti was just a suggestion, it's obviously not possible. Anyway, when will the demo be out? how far have you got?
 
Not too far it's hard thinking up quests that are actually meaningful . I will want some of them to be consequential like, once you complete an optional quest, there is a sequel to that quest later in the game for better rewards and even you might get a new party member w/ optional quests.

From the video of that guy in that other guys dream looked bloody and full gore. I just didn't understand how the crystals turned into those things... just BOOM! There they are. Everything is all around good, and the facesets look nice.

Also I have made it so that you manually distribute your attribute points. And sometimes you might be given a bonus dialogue option you can select if you have enough of that attribute. So its mroe sandbox this way :)
