We are creating a parody of RPG games and I was wondering what other Turn Based Battle System Games there are? Preffably like the Defualt Battle System. So far we have

So as you see we cant think of much turn based front veiw battle system RPGs. Were little n00blits . lol

So anyone know anymore 2d Turn Based Battle System Games that we haven't thought of or played.

I think Mystic Quest (a FF game) was turn based.

It had a display which showed the order of characters, but FFX was turn based as well. Chrono Trigger's battle system had the time meter, but when you play the battle system on Wait mode then it's pretty much a standard turn based battle system. Actually, in general, most games are turn based.

Well, if you're lookin for ones like the default RM system, it looks like you already have Dragon Warrior and Earthbound down. One that you are missing is the Lufia series (SNES). 7th Saga (SNES again) also had a similar battle perspective even though the background was Mode7.

There is also a great turn-based strategy game, Age of Wonders

Wait isnt that the game with like 12 diffrent races and you conquer the whole land? I LOVED THAT GAME!!!!

Paper Mario's also turn-based, but it's incredibly interactive so it wouldn't really fit.

Not all of the Final Fantasies are turn-based.

Only I, II, III, and X are actually turn-based.  I don't remember about IV, or V, but VI, VII, VIII, IX, X-2, XI, and XII are action based.  The Tactics games are turn-based, but those are strategy games, and as stated before, not what the original poster is looking for.

All the old D&D based games, such as The Bard's Tale, were first-person turn based.

That was actually pretty funny. I'll have to remember this; "your mom is turn-based!".

As for turn-based battle, pick most SNES RPGs and you'll have one. All Final Fantasy games prior to the fourth, the Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga games (though I haven't played the newer ones),  and much, much more that I can't seem to remember right now. Good luck though!
