Troube importing characters made with Charas

Hello!

Whenever I import a character I've made using Charas generator. And play with it. The character is all f*cked up (don't show any animations etc) and the graphic is poor. What is the problem?

Anyone?

What size is the character sprite image? How many frames are on the sprite sheet? Most importantly are the frames in their respective sections? For example 128 x 192 each frame of the sprite should be in 32 x 48. Use the rulers to make sure they are all in bounds. I never used 'Charas' before so I'm not sure if they have guidelines or anything like that. What is the output image type, (*.png, *.jpg, *.bmp)? Are you setting the proper transparency color if its a png or bmp? Make sure that you're animation goes by row not by column. I hope at least one of my questions sparked the answer to your problem. If it didn't post your sprite sheet so I or someone else can see it and help out if possible.

Good luck with it FakeFish! :thumb:

Okay... you see the tileset for your character in RPG XP?

It is 4 by 4, being 4 rows of animations for the four movements, cool?

Well, Charas makes their stuff for an older version that simply reused and flipped bits and pieces of the template to EMULATE the four frames... Plus it's 3 x 3...

Idea for you to try out... grab the charas template okay? and then export one of the templates from the RPG XP, and match the poses. Sure you might have to flip some tiles around, and of course, doesn't hurt to go ahead, if you're using photoshop to edit them, to use the ruler and snapping grid to make sure your tiles are coming out right.

I believe the Charas pics are 92 x 112 and the RPG XP ones are 128 x 192 or something like that... I don't entirely remember...
