Transforming

Can anyone tell me how to make a character transform during a battle? I am a n00b kinda and I am trying to make my first rpg, so go easy on me. I am using Minkoffs animated battle system and its awesome! :thumb: Any other tricks or tips would be appreciated.

This totally depends on how you want transforming to work. Basically, what you'll need is an attack with a common event attached that removes the person who uses the attack from the party, and swaps them with the transformed character.

If you want them to turn back after battle, you'll need a parallel process common event or something that checks to see if the transformed character is in the party, and if he is, swaps him for the other one.

Make sure to put a wait on that parallel process, and perhaps set up a switch on it that you turn on when that character is available to stop it from running all the time.

instead of removing the character, you can also choose options such as change battler graphics etc. You can even edit the character's stats in common events and, provided you use simple addition/subtraction, turn it back just as easy after battle with a different event.

well, using states that shouldn't really matter. I completely forgot about states XD. Good thinking there. That would probably achieve just about anything in terms of transformations

Okay, I tried everyones methods and I get the same problem. part of The animated battlers sprite sheet shows up instead, flashing. Any further help? The exact battle system I am using is Animated Battlers by Minkoff, Updated by DerVVulfman.
