The only reason it got a movie is because it's old and ongoing and yet I don't see a movie on DBZ.

What are you talking about there's been like 12 DBZ movies.

I dunno looks like a fun movie with lots of eye candy I'll prolly end up seeing it.

Prob going to go watch it on Monday, mostly because a friend invited me ^^; I never really watched the original series, though I did enjoy Beast Wars.

I enjoyed this movie as well, and considering the applause at the end, practically everyone in the cinema too. My only gripe though was that there simply wasn't enough transformers.

BTW, don't bother waiting past the credits.

Just watched it. 2 words. Awe-some. Watch it now. I liked the way the military acted on the whole issue but the movie is great in general.

I used to watch the cartoons but I forgot tons. Was Bumblebee = Hotshot? or just same outfit, different bots?

I think Hotshot was an orange race car. That and Hotshot was the one who was like a Transformer version of Mike from Ninja Turtles, lol.

That's to keep it a little more simplistic..and as part of the "beginning"...there are 2 more movies coming..so be patient :)

Transformers has a complicated continuity. It's like Final Fantasy, there's about 12 different TF continuities at least by now. Hot Shot was only really in the last three cartoons, Armada, Energon and Cybertron, which were loosely related.

Bumblebee is from the original Generation 1, which ran to 1990, he was also in the early 90's Generation 2 then dropped out until the Movie. In all those shows, he was a young Autobot espionage / deep cover agent, specialising in advance scouting and information gathering. Hot Shot was more of a rookie who grew into a more senior role, he never had the defined role Bumblebee had.

Anyhow, switching off fanboy mode for now, great movie. Felt the pace was a little hard to follow in battles at times, the way things bounced about, but it was a very good film altogether. Solid action in the last part, and a good build up through the early stages. Could have used more Decepticons, granted, but the Movie Writers said themselves that this was the origin story and it was important to explain where all these robots came from and what they are before they brought in the big bads. Can't really argue with that thinking.

It is certainly that. I'm not a big movie fan (am a big Transformers fan) and I went to see it twice.

Went to watch it yesterday. I must say it's a good source of solid entertainment! (albeit also a giant cinematic advertisement. n.n' It was almost fun spotting merchendise.) I was skeptical going in, but going out...it's now a movie I'd like to own. I'd recommend it to anyone! Transformer fan or not.

However...my biggest complaint was---The X-Box 360 should have shown its red ring of death after that! But I suppose that's not good marketing....

Anybody know what happened to Scorpinok and Barricade? Right after Scorpinok was attack by the jets he burrowed underground and was never seen again...Barricade just mysteriously vanished, you never did see him die in the movie...Did Scorpinok die underground?

How about some spoilers please.

flashy two hour commercial with a disappointing lack of bad hair metal.

I mean with real effects and real actors like this Transformer movie has.

Agh, I saw the last 15 minutes of this movie waiting to see the midnight premiere of the Harry Potter movie... >.< It's killing me to not know what the heck happened before (well, I mean beyond the bad guys wanting to take over the universe and blah blah blah).

Beast Wars > Transformers!!! They should've ditched the crappy cars and kept the kick-ass animals FTW!!!!

You do realize that Beast Wars would have never come about without those 'crappy cars' right? Respect for what came before man, because if it hadn't, then Beast Wars never would have even come close.

Wasn't "Beast Wars" just about the Robots that the Ship created to protect the dormant Autobots in the prehistoric era after they crashed on Earth?

I vaguely remember watching an episode where they showed the slumbering Autobots in the crago hold of the ship and they were quite bit larger than the Beast Robots.

Am I wrong?
