Tones in maps (RMVX and RMXP)

Hey.

I see alot of people use some colors and tones on their maps made by the Tint Screen option. And I do not actually know how should I do it. I'd like to know if someone could help me with it, gaining the sense of lightening in different maps.

By the way, I'm sorry if this is in the wrong forum and please, MOVE IT if it is... I did not find another forum that could relate to my question as this.

Thanks!

Maybe General Support?

Anyway, if you select the command, you will see four tabs, each one representing a color. What you do is pull one to the left to get less of that color, or to the right to get more color.

There's a little box on the right that shows the overall screen tone. Note that the less color you have, the darker the screen is, and vice versa. This is how you can get fade in and out effects.

At the bottom is time; it's really simple, just how much time (in frames) will it take to fade in the color.

Hope that helped.

A good thing to keep in mind is that usually, extremely strong tones (nearing 100 or so) could often feel too overpowering, so it's something to be careful about. The greyscale is also one of the most handy tools in the tone changer, so experimenting with that could get you some interesting effects.

Well it all really depends on the type of map it's.
For me with a nice cool forest I use.
Red -20
Green -17
Blue -18
Grey 40
That's just me anyway, try just fiddling around with it until you get something you like.

I was searching for something like 006 said... Tones I could use for Forests, for night-time, etc... I was looking on some tips on those, how should I be conscious of what tones to use in determined maps!

Question; if I put it on map 1 and put a time, will that time continue to say 4 maps later when it would be nighttime and stay that way until a bit later then will turn day time?
