~Story overview~

"Somewhere... Beyond this sea of stars is an island. An Island between worlds. An Island to Anywhere."

In one world, A malevolent wizard is waging war to overthrow the royal family.
In another world, a young cop is on the track of a mass murderer who has managed to evade the law until now. In yet another world, a world that has yet to be born, an ancient evil waits in the emptiness of the void...

What is the link between these worlds? You must travel them. Taking on the form of one of four protagonists, you must walk in the dust of different worlds to uncover the secret of their origins, and the key to your own identity.

Quite lovely indeed.

I'm a bit disturbed by that one screenshot with the arrow that looks like an enlarged sprite rip, it gives the scream of "cheesy-ass FF lover game", I hope it's a placeholder. Aside from that, this is presented quite well and the choice of stories is something I haven't really seen before (That's just me...), good luck with the project.

Ratty: Yes, it is a place holder which I've already fixed, but I couldn't be bothered to take another screenshot.

Cruelty: Alternative titles have included "Destination: Anywhere" or "A Dreamless Ordinary"... but for now it'll remain "To Anywhere".

Ooh, the title drew me in and you made me want to play it. While I'm not a fan of how generic the character looks or that the arrow in the screenshot looks too big, the game sounds and looks interesting. :) I'd offer to playtest, but college is sucking up my free time. ;O; Good luck Doc! ~peep edit: and I don't like that menu. XD Looks too busy!

The title reminds me of some Tom Hanks' movie, hahah. Looking good, definitely has potential - seems like you've been improving, too. Will try the demo in the near future. :>

I downloaded and it says that I'm missing map 48 in the data.

EDIT: Also, Rieves. Doctor has been around forever. He released Utopian Chaos as a full game for 2K, then released an ABS demo for the second on 2K3. He's definitely skilled in his field, it's obviously difficult getting used to a new engine and a new set of graphics though.

(I really liked Utopian Chaos.)

I really like the soundtrack. I haven't played much though so I'll comment more when I play through Dawn's story.

EDIT: Um, what? Is there no actual gameplay, just mapping? Or something...

Yeah, I can't see the font in the menu either. :< But it is nice so far, Doc. ^^ I'll comment more when I have more time to play.

@Jakey:
Eh, I know. D: ? I'm confused. I didn't imply that he's new or anything?

P.S. Downloading now. :>

Edit:
Loved the calmful feel of the etting. The BGM and the waves made it so care-free, I felt like it was a therapy session, hahah. Everything's looking clean, great job. The dark-leaved trees' top part are impassable though, not sure if that's intended.

If you liked the maps in the game, Flash might have appreciated hearing that...but I guess feasting on the corpse of his project is less effort. But yes, I assume "anything" means anything...but I'd suggest giving him a credit in your project.

Yeah, the maps are wondeful.
And yeah, of course i'd give him credit for it.
After all, he made all that awesomeness.
I just don't want to upset someone, that's why i asked of course.
Ciao.

I'd never seen this thread before, but despite it being cancelled, I would like to point out that the author (Doctor/Flash) was miscreditting Trickster for the Lufia system, which was actually coded by myself.

http://www.rpgmaker.net/games/107/

For any future readers who might mistake it for Trickster's work.

Doctor has also been so generous as to let anyone have access to his work, which is another point I would like to make that if anyone goes to the trouble of removing the Lufia 2 script from his project and using it in their own, to properly credit me (Prexus) for the work.

I know this project is discontinued but I would still like to make a comment on it. I played a lot of RMXP projects and I have found none as immersive as the beginning of this game. You start out on the Island to Anywhere which seems to be a fog ridden place that has long been abandoned and you are allowed to explore with no direction. I am a big fan of exploratory games so I really enjoyed this part. From what I read a lot of people got stuck on this part and I was too for a little while but as I explored more I found the items necessary to continue. Using these items in the right place made it feel like part adventure game. This probably doesn't need to be mentioned but the island is also beautifully mapped which only adds to the immersive factor.

After the Island to Anywhere the game turns into more of a traditional RPG from what I saw. There were some interesting mechanics introduced in the first dungeon but they were still very simplistic. It is unfortunate we will never see them explored more. I got as far as I could but the game crashed at the castle due to some graphic missing.

It is very unlikely but I would like to see this game continued. Especially if there are more parts like the very beginning. I know it is hard working on a project that doesn't get the attention you want it to but if you come back to work on it you can count me as a fan.
