Tileset Question

Yeah, I know this is a simple question, but since I'm making this more for HK buffs than myself I thought I'd get a little feed back. Now, the actual tileset don't have to worry about. I'm not asking for help ont it. there's a lot more I've done on it than what you see here. I'm just too pixel worn to organize it all and post it ATM ^^;

I was starting on making the roads when I noticed a... gap? between the buildings and the slanted road tile . I was just wondering whether it would be practical, or a complete waste of time to make a slanted portion of the house tile(to match the road slant). Tilesetting takes alot of time and if I don't have to make this part of the set I won't. I'm just wondering about the practicality I guess. If anyone would find use for it. So, big sprite guys let me know.

here's what I mean:

Oh, and before anyone asks: Yes it is HK sized, yes it would look stupid with RTP (I know) and no, I'm not going to "resize it" to fit your RTP project.

Honestly, don't waste the time. You won't be able to fit any doors on it properly, and realistically buildings don't slant.

It's be more realistic for the mapper to simply extend the building and map their slope over it. You know what I mean- real buildings are level even when on a sloped ground- the foundation is simply covered up.

Also, nice job on adding a drain in the sidewalk. Most people, including myself, would have overlooked a detail like that.

Edit: Your wood texture is nice.

Agreed SK, a waste of time. Doing a slanted building would warrant more slanted objects which would just stall shit, and we wouldn't want that now would we.

I dont know, an angled piece of house is also nice for a little diversity and to make a cityscape look more dynamic. Sorry, I'm cross like that :p

And I love your palette choices :)

If you make your street tiles a pixel or so less high, it will give the whole more perspective I think, or would that fuxxor up the way they connect? :p

I think it looks nice..and gives you more creation options, but I agree with Despain and JStreet...sorta a waste unless there is a specific need for it on something.

I think you're looking at it wrong. It's not elevated. It's slanted. like quarter turn or a half right ...know what I mean? ^^;.

Don't bother. You'd then have to do it for any indoors you do as well. As Despain said, the road could ressemble a hill instead of a turn in the road.

Creators would have to have pixel movement to make the slants work nicely anyway. All in all, the negatives outweigh the positives and it isn't worth the annoyance of making it.

I know, It was only to see how it would look and thought might aswell post it since I have enough upload space and as an answer to those who said it would take to much time, touching this up would be fairly easy.

And yeah, I did nothing else then skew it and slightly up te contrast, Its Kaizerswork, I won't tinker with to much :p

Yeah I'd never do it that way because now the lighting is off as well, but, if anything at least it shows what I meant about the slant. Using this as a better example than the "red wall" I put up , what do you think?

In a way I think It would look ok if reworked and might add a little extra in a town, altho for the times it would get used it might be to much a hassle.

Only bother if youd really like to use it and have time to spare, it would not be missed if not.

And your style really reminds me a lot of Alundra, very nice.

Yeah I love Alundra's pallette. Though I havent used it for reference for this particular tileset I do plan on it in the future.

Eh, I guess I'll go ahead and kank the whole slantie idea. Thanks for the unput fellas.
