this there away to make a pet system?

Hello to all who see this. In one of the game that i would like to make I'll like to have it have a pet system but seeing how this is my first time ever working on rpg maker xp, vx and/or older.  i would like to know how re-make the menu screen to add a pet command and skill, icons,and battle info for pets in the game. i would like to have it where i can get, buy, and train pet in the game.  is there a add-on that i have to get or is there no way  that the gam can support the systen?

Once you use the phrase "Remake the menu screen," you just said "I will be needing to do some RGSS (or RGSS2) scripting." 

Now, if you want to do the other parts of this, and just, for example, have the pet as a party member, or have a few special "Pet Attacks" you can use as skills in combat, you can do it just fine with events.  The system will, of course, be exactly as complicated as you imagine it to be.

oooo.. well then is there a page where i can learn how to write, work with RGSS scripting. for there is othing that i would like but i didn't know that i had to change the RGSS at all. but thanks for the reply

Once you are fluent in RGSS, your possibilities are limitless; no longer is it ever a question of can you do something, but how.

Edit: In the future, it would probably be better to post such questions in the RMXP/VX General Support forum. This forum is more for something like... discussing the implementation of pet systems in games. Or something.

thankx for that page but for some odd resone i was able to look at it last night then i exited it out and later i thought an idea to copy and past all that was there so i can go back and read what the training was and now i can go to the page. but thanks for the help
