This is how NERDS fight. What do you think?

Uh... then you have like no upper body strength. A claymore weighs less than six pounds on average.
They're about 5 feet long in and a foot wide in fantasy land, though.

@Kest: Obviously they aren't going down when hit, and it seems like they're relating this to real life situations in the midieval era. With that thin layer of armor, when they get hit with a sword, they're going to be sliced, and killed. End of story.

Are.....Are those LARPers? (Live Action Role Playing). Those people...ya...they don't strike me as the smartest people in the world (even if they are nerds). :-/ Most of the pics i've seen of LARPers are pics of them beating each other with "kendo sticks" (shinais) in parking lots at 8 pm.

<_< But meh. They look like they're having fun, so who am i to piss all over their parade?

Wow. Reminds me of when I was a kid when all the kids in the neighborhood would get out their nerf guns and plastic bats and play "war"... almost the same thing in the video... but we didn't get THAT deep into it. O_O

As should be obvious, they aren't. End of story.

There, I fixed it for you. ;)

Even at a foot wide, such a sword would be unlikely to weigh more than 15 or so pounds. A totally absurd weight for anyone to use in combat, but not all that difficult to simply lift.

Rofl - you know, those real life Beholders, and the real life Dwarf/Giant fights, and the real life lightning bolt spells... et cetera.

I think it looks like a lot of stupid fun. I would have a great time with it. Who cares if it's cool or not, how often do you get to dress in weird-ass costumes, shout battlecrys, and hit friends with foam-rubber weapons?

well actually, in my circle of friends, fairly often. Never quite so elabourate though.
