This guy seems fishy...

Ok so this guy is buying something from me over the internet. It began relatively great and everything seemed to be going fine. So I thought he was a decent guy so I sent him my mailing address for a money order.

Well ever since then things are acting weird. This guy gives me like 3-1 word answers whenever I ask him about something. He is very unresponsive and isn't exactly answering my questions. Also he said that he sent $600 more than what I asked. That on it's own is very weird. I mean he said he is from Canada but I really don't think the conversion rate is that bad.

Now normally I would just drop the fella because he is beginning to creep me out, but then again he knows my name and where I live...

I don't know what to do!

(From now on I'm giving my father's P.O. Box)

the conversion from canadian to us definitely isn't that bad unless you're dealing with several thousands of dollars. I say keep a lookout, and never forget where your shank is.

I think that if a check ever does get here I'm going to just send it back to him if it's not the right change.

But lets say I wasn't such a good Samaritan, what could he do legally to me. By the way I have all the emails he sent me.

So what if you drop him? He'll pay to send "threat" mail to you? Most likely, he's not going to do anything.

And Miek's moderating skills are...moderate (cleverclevercleverclevercleverclever).

I say take a roll of the dice and spend the extra money on LOTS OF CHEAP HOOKERS AND BOOZE.

You can't feel him kill you if your body's numb from alcohol.

He is probably either doing it as a joke or is serious and you'll probably be safe for both scenarios.
1) If he's doing it as a joke, he is just looking to either scam you or just freak you out. Either way you can walk away easily and he won't bother going through the procedures to get back at you since he has no reason to.
2) If he's serious, then he probably has something going on in his life and wouldn't feel the need to direct his anger at you. In this case, keeping contact with him would be more dangerous, since it would be giving him more fuel to misinterpret or become angry by one of your actions. Dissassociating with him is the best choice in this scenario too.

Honestly, you really don't have anything to worry about. Do you know where he lives? If it isn't anywhere near you then he wouldn't bother looking for you. If it is then... well then you better start packing (j/k of course).

I think you should play it cool
Ask him his info, if he is a Killer (which Likely he isnt)
Play the old trap and crap, tell him that "Sucked in your not going to get your money and ur stuff either" he will come to your house.
Then 10/20 minutes earlyier call the cops and ask them to wait at your house. then he is trapped and most likely craped.

I honestly don't understand this topic. Go with Des though. He'll handle it.
What exactly are you selling him? Is it through ebay or is like cheap labor or something? And you don't live in Canda so you really shouldn't have to much of a problem in the end of it all...

tell him you moved and give him another address! :thumb:

A: the guy doesn't live nearby, from what I gather he's Canadian

B: being murdered isn't the number-one concern, I think. and telling the guy you completely welched on the deal isn't exactly playing it cool.

I don't exactly get what the problem is here, anyway? he said that he sent you six hundred more than you needed, and and he's giving you short answers, and... I really don't think I'm getting the full picture here because I totally don't understand the whole problem. has the transaction even been completed? why are you still in contact with him? who the fuck IS he?

p.s. are you selling him REEFER? :smoke:

Exactly Miek who's the hidden person.
Just give him back the extra 600 and then ship him his shit, and block him or whatever. There isn't necessarily a problem exepct your paranoid for some odd reason. Unless you're dealing with mafia?!?! O_o then you're pretty much fudged. But other than that yeah nothing to fear except fear itself.

And maybe you're giving him questions that only require one word responsed. IE:
You:"Did you get the item yet?"
Him: "Yeah."

things like that. I mean a full conversation isn't necessarily what people are up to. And if you're asking him questions on the item that he's buying then maybe you're of guilty party????

No by one word conversations I mean as something like this.

Me: You said that you sent Xamount to me? I thought the agreed upon price was Yamount. That is $600 more then the agreed upon price that we established. I am confused on why you sent the extra amount of money

Him: ok

That is seriously how it is, that is actually what he replied to something like that. I think I am just going to drop him because he is really pissing me off and I need the money.

@Miek: I don't know who he is other then by his email, he said he's from Canada so I'm assuming that is where he is from.

And if you guys seriously don't know what I'm selling then you need to look around a little bit more. It's right under your noses! (Not cocaine!... or other drugs lol)

And thanks for your opinions. I tend to over-exaggerate a situation and I always think the worst of what could happen so thank you for reassuring me.

oh I see.

well if he's the kind of person who buys world of warcraft accounts then maybe he's just not a good conversationalist?

if you can't get to the bottom of it because he's being so tight-lipped, it's his own fault. wait until the money arrives and see if he really sent you an extra six hundred, then press him on whether he wants it back or not. if he doesn't speak up, then it's his own damn fault if you wind up keeping it.

I would but the rents are really uptight and think that it is morally wrong or something about keeping it. Sorry Des =/

Anyways, so I guess I might just drop the fella, he is really pissing me off and I seriously doubt he sent anything at all. If so I'll send his check back because that's just the kind of person I am... or something.

But then again this guy knows where I live so... ya I don't want to piss this creep off.

NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR ADRESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!

also you're an idiot. congratulations you listened to mom's lectures on myspaces!!!!

when you're an adult this kind of thing changes a lot, especially when business is involved. my address and phone number and all sorts of details are freely available on the internet. i seriously doubt that someone is going to want to rape a 300 pound bearded dude like myself (and if they try, hell, I haven't gotten any in like 6 months so they're more than welcome)

well xaixis how old are you is a big thing here. if you're an adult and this is a business transaction then you have no reason to worry about being RAPED LOL or any of that bullshit that people would have you be totally paranoid about.

if he was sending you more money than you expected i'd be more worried that he was using a stolen credit card or something and really the whole HE KNOWS MY ADDRESS is a very small factor (unless you're like 15 or younger)
