The Wall Jumping Game (no name yet)

Because I'm trying to seperate the spikes from stalagmites or whatever, I had to add.. two more colors ;-;

but thoughts?\

To be honest I'm not a fan of the red... couldn't you just like, have a tutorial level that says only certain looking spikes will harm you, while the stalagmites are harmless or something?

thanks and btw how would you explain a springy/jumpything. like something that launches you, while keeping reasonably cave-ish

Hmm, maybe you could add health pickups to your levels, so even if they do have to sacrifice some life, they can regain it lol... maybe those mushrooms you added could be a source of life, lol (Even though I wouldn't eat a random mushroom I found in a cave...)

haha mkae the screen go blurry after you eat one.. I suppose I could do health pickups every once and a while. Just not sure I want to do mushrooms (not sure mushrooms even grow in caves)

Very interesting. You definitely have a lot of ways you can expand this. I would consider increasing the vertical distance the player can jump when they're jumping upwards but keeping to the same wall. It seems a little gimped.

This is a similar game that is very well done and you might be able to pull some inspiration from. Godspeed!

How about if you bounce off of giant slugs? Caves are usually cold and damp so it'd make sense to be honest... not to mention slugs look bouncy, even though they're not :( (I tried it a long long time ago)

Idk maybe, I'll still think about it

can't remember if I had mentioned it before, but I'm going to try and move this project over to C#. Reason being more control, less bugs unfixable, and possibility for multiple platforms later on. I'll continue making the levels in Game Maker (I have a method of exporting them) until I have a stable version in C#
