The Title Screen for my game.

Well, here I have two versions, they look the same but if you look good enough you can find the differences.

This is the new one:

Comments and Critique please and thanks. :)

The second one looks MUCH better, but I don't like titles which use photos and filters, generally.

A title should convey the meaning and feeling of the game, not just look cool. Like your sig--if that was the title screen, I'd think the game was severe and action-packed.

Those titles you posted there, on the other hand, really don't convey any emotion at all.

Thank you for the feedback.
@Venetia: What I was going for, was sort of a ocean sparkle rift, like the tide rolling, and for the colors, it could be representing that this game is eerie, having twists and turns, and action backed in the middle. What i'm afraid of doing is using a render by some other game used in my title screen, which would, I think, give the meaning to the player that this game has something to do with another game, and thats why I don't use renders, but I should find one that would be right for it... It'll be hard for me.

It's good, but doesn't display much about your game. From what this title reveals, your game resolves around a mineral called "Synthite", which is displayed in the back of this title screen.

If I started up a game with this title, I'd shut down the game and never look at it again. If it was on the PC, I'd shred the file. This displays nothing about the game, and makes me not want to play any further.:p

Thats a bit harsh. It looks good aesthetically, just that it doesn't really show what your game is about...

Sparx-1: Sure you can go ahead
Samboy: you're actually semi-correct. I am going to try to work on a new one that displays a meaning to the game.
Angelic Kain:and?

Most titles of games that are out on stored don't really give the meaning of what it is about, take Kingdom Hearts title as an example.
All that it is is the name of the game, Sora with a fish-looking bone in his mouth, and the ocean animation, if I didn't look at the commercials for it it would seem like sora is some kind of fisher, or likes to eat fish or watch the ocean, and it is about neither.
Bioshock is another example, but it resembles some of it's gameplay in there. Angel Kain, if you believe that a title is suppose to show you what, who, and where your going to be playing, in my opinion it wouldn't be a good game, because I already know where it takes place, who your playing as, and what your doing, so it is no surprises in the first half or so of the game. The Bioshock title screen, it is a picture of a lighthouse, water effects, and the title dripped in water. For all the people who haven't played bioshock I'm not going to tell anymore than that.
I know that this title is not a good one, I am working on a newer version with probably more time spent on planning and text. Now i am not telling everyone out there that i do not accept critique, I do, and It doesn't matter if you stated your mind Kain.

I like the latest version of your titlescreen the best.

It's pretty nice. I'm not sure if I like the font though. I like the little comets / falling stars you added to the font.

Now that last one is sharp! The text is very attractive.

It's a little off-center, though. And it'd be extremely excellent if the little RTP stuff in the center were animated somehow, like the crystal was rotating or something.

ok i have an opinion on the new one

1: where the three beams come out of the bottom part of the "s" i think you need to add moe light there.. maybe just color aver the point where it connects with a medium sized brush.

also, the brightness of the "s" should be spread out accross the next few letters.. kinda lik a gradient so that it flows.. when i looked at it, it was kinda like a shock from nice and warm/bright to cold.. if that maks sense

Awesome Bro

I agree with Nexs's last paragraph up there.

I made this to give you an idea of what I think you should do with the rest of the text :

@Ven: Thanks, I'm not sure if that would work or not :P
@Nexs: Hmm.. Ii'll try to do that in my next try at it.
@$t3v0: THanks for giving me a layout of what Nexs and you suggested
Thanks for feedback guys, I'll try and work on it laster today :D
