the sims 3

I gotta say I really enjoy The Sims 3 right now. But because their want to make money surpasses their want to please people it doesn't have any features that will undoubtedly be in expansion packs, a nightlife, dining out properly, hot tubs, university, seasons, holidays e.t.c. It's a little frustrating as it makes the full environment thing a little useless at this point. With more expansions this'll be great, right now it's a bit barren and seems like it's only a beta demo or something.

The styles editor is awesome and yet its driving me crazy ... The other night after I made a room look fuckin perfect-amazing, I'd realized that I'd just wasted over an hour on decorating only that room.

yikes

The only gripe I have is that SIMS 1 didn't run on my old computer. SIMS 2 doesn't run on my new computer which was HIGH SPEC and bought after SIMS 2 came out. Which means I won't be able to play SIMS 3 until another couple of PC cycles. I don't know if this is a thing with all games or just with SIMS, but it is incredibly annoying.

Especially when they provide system requirements and you have 10x what they require.

sims always seems to tax your cpu the hardest, and that is usually the most seldom-upgraded thing in the average computer.

it doesnt tax the video card or your ram very much at all. what it is (in my own theory) is the constant AI cycles running concurrently on every object. every object, from sims to flowers, have their own independent animations, randomizers, and other data which constantly affect all sim objects around them. i actually read somewhere that sims 2 is one of the most cpu-taxing pieces of software out there.

my comps have always run them beautifully and smoothly though so :0~

got the sims 3 afew days after its release. I finally made a family that goes regularly, unlike my usually Sims 2 plan where I repeat the following: Ctrl+Shift+C, "motherlode", Enter. My household is just 2 people, young adult guy and young adult girl, both being in Military or Law Enforcement (I forgot) and now it's pretty hard since they barely have any time to get to improve on a skill since an hour after leaving work they need to go to bed so their Energy reaches atleast 75% before going to work...Still trying to think how to make a Wedding Party for them since the first Birthday only dissatisfied 1 person out of the 20 ppl who came lol

i bought it like of of release. at first i really liked the traits but now i see they're kinda pointless. like the 'extreme' trait, there is 'etreme' in front of everything my sim does, which is funny at first, but it's pointless. it's ok, but as far as characters or unique personalities it fails.

on the other hand, the graphics are great, and it's way easier to get promoted. i'm actually not adicted to it like the 1 and 2 sims, because you get promoted left and right (for me the friends needed stopped me in the other) so i'm just going to have to get creative and see what i can do to my sims :haha:
