The story sounds pretty good; more original/better than the standard RPG "Kid from small town is somehow able to use weapons and meets a pretty girl and they fall in love and meet two other people as they collect crystals and destroy The Great Evil."  But for goodness sakes, with a story of that calibre, PLEASE custom map....Or at least make additions to the RTP.  The ruins look pretty good, but the lake and forest especially just strike me as...dull.  Incredibly dull.  Very, incredibly dull.  RTP.  Yawn.  No filters, no effects, no additions.  Just RTP.  Yawn.

The mapping is just fine. I'm not going to change anything with it. Kraft made the Darrell Woods map soo...

Besides, this project has been running for about 3 years now. I know the RTP like the back of my hand.

I have to agree with Sirus01; the mapping looks pretty solid, even with the RTP.

Crystalgate: lol, now that I realize it, your right. 100,000 is a bit too much. Kergum had the greatest military force at the time but still. I've edited it to where Anteox only had 40,000 men-at-arms and was crushed to a mear 15,000.

Remember, Kergum had some of the best tactics for war at the time. And also, Anteox only has slaves fighting. Kergum has warriors, seige weapons, etc. for such a small nation, they could sure hold their own.

Well, 40,000 still seems to much (wars against Russia has been won with less during the medieval age,) but falls within the range of suspension of disbelief. I'm still not able to make sense of Alakmed's plan though, I still get the impression that he didn't execute what he planned.

Hello everyone, It's been awhile since my last post but I assure you I have not givin up on this project. I hold this very dear to me and WILL finish it. If you don't like the RTP, get used to it. I like that style and thats the way it is. There are quite a few Custom graphics in TRC so dont fret RTP haters.

It's been almost 2 years but a demo is just on the horizon. A few more events and sprites and we'll be in business. It's hard to find anyone who is willing to sprite RTP due to the VX takeover. I'll keep everyone posted on any new reguarding the project. Later.

Yes, I know. But The Red Crusade has NOTIHNG at all to do with the actual events going on in Europe and the Middle East. This game takes place on it’s own continent. The Muslims on this continent are much different than the ones in the Middle East.

Besides, it’s not their people that’s bad. It’s their bloodthirsty ruler or dictator who wants total control over the continent. The citizens of Anteox are slaves doing their rulers bidding. Much like Hitler.

Much like Hitler? Slaves? It's neither. It's just mal-influence. And all people have the capability for evil in them.

I like the features this game will provide after the demo. And I can't wait till that ABS is up and working right.

Btw. I'm his new spriter. One of them. I think he needs more, but so far I haven't had any trouble spriting what he wants sprited.

I wish there was romance in this game tho. Maybe like an affection level that you could gain for your girlfriend. I like war games with Romance. Muahhha. :tongue:

I still don't really understand the whole history behind all of this. I'm not really big on history, But playing the game should give me a better understanding right?

There is romance in this game. Kent and Rehia have been childhood friends and over time when they get older through out the game, their loves blossoms. There is more to it but I can’t give that info away just yet.

It seems I’m gonna have to change the storyline up a bit for people to better understand it. Yes, once you play the game, you will have a better understanding of it.

I’ll update this thread with a more detailed storyline and a few update tomorrow. Thanks guys for the posts!
