The officially* unofficial End of the PS3 vs. 360 Debate

Seems pointless at this point in the game. It all boils down to the new croud they're both aiming for. All the information you have doesn't entirely appeal to them. Either way, this could help someone who is severly perplexed over which console to buy.

Both Kinect and Move are pointless. Both will be unsupported in terms of third party development in any major way or fashion due to costs of Dev-kits with little chance of return. The same thing has happened every cycle which began with Sega and their "WE'RE PUSHING THE LIMITS OF TECHNOLOGY!" campaign.

Expect to see a steady stream of arbitrary sports games and some game compatibility updates here and there to a couple of existing titles. Maybe they'll throw in a gimmick card game, though Sony already did with Eye of Judgment for the Eye Toy.

The Wii is the only console currently with an opportunity to break this cycle, but Nintendo is just too damn stubborn to give some leeway to third party developers. They have always been too restrictive. They're the Apple of the gaming world.

maybe, but worse case scenario they have already spent time perfecting the technology by the time the next consoles come out which saposively(crap spel check wont fix) will both compatible with 3d tvs and such. not that im a fan of 3d :(

I haven't checked out Kinect or PS Move at all simply because I'm pretty sure 99% of the games coming out for it will be games like Wii Sports or other stuff like that.
Unless they figure out a way to succesfully implement it into other more difficult genres I won't buy it.
Plus it's expensive as hell so yeah..

they've done, like, a remake of Heavy Rain using PS Move (WAGGLE TO USE THE TOILET AGAIN), but yeah the catalogue at this time seems to be mostly made up of dancing and sports games. then again, the Wii also started out with a really gimmicky and basic library of games, so who knows where Kinect and Move will go from here?

I think I'm the only one who digs those cheesy sports games when they're done alright :x they make good "alright there's nothing to do so let's just fuck around on the wii" games

People have been soo up-in-arms and pissy about the Kinect lately though. Why is that? I don't really follow gaming news so I just hear the feedback and not the stuff causing it.

Awesome Bro

Well since Kinect is getting a Panzer Dragoon game, which I really hope is fun, not because I'm buying Kinect, but my mate is, and if I can convince him to buy the game, I'll be happy since I can play it at his, lol, and as for PS Move, I reckon Sorcery will work pretty well, since the demo at E3 looked impressive and pretty accurate.

I like that about those games too, they're just good fun for when you're bored, but it's just too bad that they never take it a step further and make more serious games that use the controls in a good way.
Games like Zelda and Mario for example all required minimal use of the Wii Remote imo. (a bit of slashing your sword with link and grabbing some orbs in Mario Galaxy.)
That's one of the reasons I'm looking forward to the next Zelda, I saw a few movies where you could see that Link's sword followed your arm movements exactly, it seems that that game might be one of the first to take the controls to a higher level.
Ofcourse that might just be false hope but only time will tell~

Well to be honest Fusty, any game that requires Wii Motion Plus should be making good use of the tech, I've heard Red Steel 2 plays amazing, but unfortunately it's a terrible game like the first.

I never got far enough through the first to make a judgement, and I don't have a Wii anymore to play the second.

i have not tried kinect yet and i doubt i ever will cause i dont plan on buying it and none of my friends are. anyawys i Bought playstation move... and for anyone who loves the wii would love the move... it better in like everyway. it feels like it works all the time unlike the wiimote AND has a rechargeable battery. that there is awesome

but it's like

weirdly

amazingly fun

really fun

i was skeptical too but wow

also i actually was sore afterward b/c it was such a good workout

like w/ the wiimote and that wii balance board you still didn't really have to move that much.

but with the kinect i had to jump and duck and dance and spin and do all kinds of weird shit

I tried kinect at best buy for five minutes. my shoulder was sore for almost a week after ward. when i first got my wii, boxing would only start making me sore after playing for at least a half hour.

I'm not going to make any assumptions about you but if you're sore after playing Kinect for five minutes then I don't think it's Kinect's fault :x

after thanksgiving dinner me and a whole bunch of people got together and played Adventures and Dance Central for hours to work off the turkey. it was a lot of fun :D

and idk im not in the best shape but i can play the games for a while without getting very sore!
but isn't it a good thing to get sore? i mean outside of pulling hamstrings or twisting ankles or w/e it otherwise just means you got a decent workout and your muscles are repairing :)
