For those who doubt if Obama will retain his position, I can say on record that he's very focused on what he believes in (I'd be surprised if he changed his personality if he got the Presidency or failed to deliver on most of his promises.) I grew up in south Chicago when Obama was around and changing things, and I've seen the good stuff he's done first-hand.

Wether that charisma, temperence and willpower can change DC (as N said) is another thing... Unfortunately. The government is more than just the president, and it's Congress we should be most worried about if Obama is elected.

I don't doubt Obama's honesty, dedication, or his drive, it's the only thing he has established constantly and thoroughly in his record. I doubt whether he can pull off some of the things he's promising, not whether he means what he says.
