The Last Year of the Old World

This one's called "The Last Year of the Old World". My band recorded this at our last night-time concert.

Sorry about the quality. It was recorded "live" (obviously), so there will be crickets, frogs and loud children/babies and whatnot.

*necropost bump!*

I haven't asked whether a necropost bump counts, but whatever. Personally, I'm suprised I didn't get any criticism.

It's a bit hard to listen to because of the way the bells echo, but it sounds really nice.
Frogs and crickets? Did you record this in a swamp? lol

Whoa, the mood changes drastically. You've kept the lovely sounding bells but added in a rather threatening Brass(? hard to tell) in the background. Then the steel drums change in volume all over the place. I'm not sure quite what you were going for, there.

Perhaps the old world is the bells, and the steel drums and Brass(?) is the violent fall of the old world?

No, just near a lake. In Australia, where frogs/crickets, etc are abundant and waiting to ruin your musical talent wherever they can.

Our timpani (formerly known as "steel drums") player is a spaz. And he likes to play that way, we really can't do anything about it. Sorry.

Actually, I don't know what you're talking about. Brass?

This piece is like a celebration of the old world, going to sleep and waking up completely refreshed and different.

We got the long notes from using a double bass bow on our vibraphone keys, which is what I am assuming you mean by brass.
