"The Kingdom" as it now stands.

In response to the request of the admin, please do NOT post examples of such things in this thread. It was not meant to single out people, therefore I kindly ask you to not make personal references (such as the one in post #7). These types of things usually lead to back and forth bickering. Please PM your staff members for such issues.

It wasn't meant to single them out par se.. Just putting it out there of how we as members treat others in general. My apologizes. :/ either way its okay. It could be better. Its not how it used to be but thats due to the constant change in admins and mods and such. And the power hungry people here and there. Its a great place. It can only get better....right?

I haven't seen Bluescope in a while. Or Prexus for that manner.

But nonetheless "The Kingdom" is under new management so maybe it can return to its "former glory" or whatever the case may be.

To be honest, I see nothing worth mentioning coming out of the way games are designed in RMXP/VX Then again, I saw nothing worth mentioning prior either.

As for forum behaviors, yeah it has changed and it sucks now. Humor is calling each other faggots and criticism has turned into a contest to see who can say the most useless shit possible to hurt the topic starters feelings. It seems that almost everything said no the boards nowadays has a "because I can, what are you going to do about it?" attitude.

A lot of the current staff is useless, but whatever, everything seems to be alright (except for the occasional forum hiccups).

Arrogance is also running rampant, but I'm guessing it's mostly a left-over from the past take over of the Progressive National Trolling Party.

Ah well, now that I'm here, I might as well throw my input in... I'll make it quick, I promise ;)

First, I gotta say that rmxp.org and #rmxp always were like connected to my understanding, as a community picture. That means with the increasing carelessness, randomness and utter unprofessionality exercised in #rmxp by the growing majority of users, this community became more and more unattractive to me, to the point where I am now - I'm hardly reading any posts in the forums aside from Script Analysis and RGSS Support, and I'm very rarely in IRC aside from the last couple of days. If it weren't for RavenTDA and Jack, who I sometimes would've talked to on IRC, I figure I wouldn't be here at all.

I realize that my post is mostly about IRC, but yeah... that's what really made visiting .org unattractive for me.

#rmxp is not rmxp.org and rmxp.org is not #rmxp.

It's funny how many of us are in agreement over the personality shift in the forums to a more arrogant, sarcastic tone. Does anyone, more specifically, anyone who feels they may fit that description have anything to say?

I honestly haven't really been here long enough to pinpoint it to a member or even a few, but it's definitely an air or a 'vibe' that I've felt since the very first day I posted here.

I've said multiple times, if someone has a problem with someone, staff or otherwise, they can always PM me about it and we can talk things over. I will do what I can to make your forum stay more pleasant for you.

If you have a problem with me, Sophist is also available to discuss these matters.

They probably did, you'd be surprised. After all, we even banned Despain when he got all shitty.

There are actually very few mods at the moment looking at the page on [f]Feedback[/i], and I can't think of many problems with any of them. Perhaps some could be more active in other areas (including myself) though.

Hi i'm one of them I think.

Sometimes we go a bit too far but it's way better than being bland as fuck. imo if you can't take a little joking around with you as the butt of it (as we all eventually get a turn in that seat) the door's right there. :3

Yeah, right, 'cause those PMs ever get anywhere. I did send some PMs a while ago and absolutely nothing happened with them.

whenever i get a relevant problem from a member, i always pay attention to it. once in a while i get so many pm's that i forget to check one or two, so it may have slipped between the cracks, but a simple reminder pm would resolve that :/

if you're trying to contact someone to speak with them about a forum issue and they are not responding, i would like to know about that, so they can be dealt with.

Well sure, I don't mind a bit of that, but considering that multiple people here have confirmed how shitty the humor has gotten, I think it can be said that not having shitty, arrogant, and overly sarcastic humor doesn't mean you're BLAND AS FUCK. Having a friendly welcoming atmosphere and still having personality and humor isn't mutually exclusive.

I'm not saying this place is terrible by any means but considering we have more than one person saying the same thing it's something to think about.

I have to agree with Feldschlacht IV on this one. Since when is "faggot" funny? Also, since when is it funny to rip through project topics, especially ones that completely follow the rules? (Please don't ask me to go find examples, as everyone here knows damn well it happens.) I mean, I know that quite a bit of the rest of the internet behaves the same way, But I can damn sure tell you that this didn't happen as much as it does now (I actually didn't notice it at all, but then I didn't look at every single thread.)

I actually think that I'm going to need some solid evidence here now. Or, rather, PM'd to me. I can't find anything of this nature you're speaking of done recently.

I realize it's much easier to see things happen you don't like, then bottle it up, and then unleash it in a biting manner 6 months later ... But telling the appropriate person about it right after it happens is a lot more effective~

p.s. things that are said in The Other Hand don't really count, unless it's really flagrantly awful. Those are the social boards, the public opinion boards, not the sharing boards.

Feld, other than the NIGGER spam in IRC (which is really shitty but idk) I haven't seen that sort of humour around here for a while. Not excessively, anyway.

That's going back to the days of NFG really, which is long gone.

Even though I haven't really posted much during my time here, I have made some observations and since this is a discussion topic I may as well speak out...

Has there been a significant change in the way we design our RMXP games?
Yes. The quality of projects has generally improved since I joined in 2006, or so I feel. Certainly it's improved since the recent 'Project Suck My...', which might not be the best project for comparisons sake but since then there has been less poorly-thought-out projects.

Has forum behavior altered?
I'm not really too sure. What I do notice about behaviour is that the 'inner circle' thing is just ridiculous. Most forums have an 'in-crowd' but I think that RMXP's version of it is a little to heavy-going, in my opinion putting 'The Dark Sponser' in the news thing was big evidence of that, but that's just how I feel.

How do you feel about the current moderation staff?
I'd like them to be slightly stricter, I just don't see a lot of official moderational warnings and whatnot. I like how you aren't robotic but I feel that you don't respond quick enough to things, like the Despain situation, as a member all I really saw you do was tell him to simply 'stop shit-posting' but that seemed a bit too lenient. I think someone mentioned that he was banned but it didn't seem to last very long.

Also I don't really like the way people sometimes hold their own conversations in a middle of a discussion thread or a news thread. I don't know if that comes under moderation but certainly some mods do it.

Overall has the forum improved?
I think so, there seem to be fewer people asking others to basically carry out their entire project, but aside from that I can't really recall any huge improvements.

Hey, hey, hey, biting's a strong word. With vigor maybe, but I wouldn't say biting. Anyway, the point is that people are just hard headed, and I know that nothing I say in any PMs (Including the ones that I have sent you) are going to do anything.

Also, Wyatt, what? You are kidding, right. Can someone PLEASE tell me how "The Dark Sponsor" is not incredibly moronic. Like, that's probably an understatement. And everything in there is directed at members who won't ever be here again to speak for themselves. That is one of the worst things that has changed. The staff openly attacks the old staff, yet at the same time a good portion of the staff here are members over at the site where the old staff is now. I mean seriously, what the hell is up with that?

sounds like you're just bitching because
1.)you made some ludicrous request that was ignored.
and
2.)you don't like that people are expressing their opinions in ways that aren't coated with tons of sugar

The Dark Sponsor was a pretty lame thing to bring up. Dissonance is allowed to express her opinion of former and current staff however she so pleases, as long as it doesn't infringe upon the rules(which it only barely did >_>). In fact, the way I see it, the ccoaerk jokes were less about her own opinions and more about the most humorously extreme way in which the situation could be construed. Besides, who else was she supposed to use for those parts. :P

(btw demonfire i sent you a pm yesterday regarding your earlier post in this thread idk if you got it but i'd appreciate a reply)
