The game to movie thread and vice versa

Considering a growing list of games being made into movies and movies being made into games, also with the silent hill and resident evil extinction threads I thought why not make a thread where you can post your thoughts and hopes
on upcoming 'game to movies' or 'movies to games'
even what games or movies you would like converting to the other.

So just fire away and post your thoughts. (or just post, it'll be safer)

Never played RE, but I loved the movies... although I gotta say that Zombies movies are desappointing, except for one...

I don't remember its name, but it was brittish and pictured a better vision of Zombies as stupid and slow...

So, in short, I'd like to see RE movies soon... AND a game based off that brittish movie, where zombies are "realistyic"

@PINEDAXP
zombies just aren't zombie anymore they look great on games and artwork but don't come across good on film, and as far as the british zombie film do you remember any of the actors?

@Prexus
yeah Doom was shite, The Rock is not the person I would have chosen to play sarge and the first person view just got annoying for me, didn't really have any of the creepy music or atmosphere.
although The rock is a good comedy / action hero actor he just doesn't suit a gruff and tough army marine. ROCK ON SARGE

Awesome Bro

Final Fantasy was pretty awful. Super Mario wasn't very spectacular either (Even though the concept was completely different).

I'd love to see Devil May Cry make some kind of an appearance. But that will never happen ....... Ever.

Yeah Devil May Cry would be a good thing to see on film.

anyone remember on the old NES these 2 games
that were converted from movies to games
nightmare on elm street
friday the 13th
they were funny.

yeah super mario kind of lost the concept almost completely except they were plumbers.

A rumor was running it's way through the internet years ago about 2001-2002 for a Duke Nukem film but seems it never even got to production.

I would like to see it though and hopefully not ruin it like DOOM.

anyone played the CSI: Crime Scene Investigation games?

@ Pine: That would be 28 Days Later. Not to be confused with 28 Weeks Later which was essentially a genero-zombie killfest. Admittedly a good killfest, but not on a par with 28 Days Later.

Thanks!

The idea of that movie is pretty "real"... I mean, if a person died and was teared apart, that person CAN NOT run wildly and have super strength... like RE...

yeah 28 days later was a good film, haven't seen 28 weeks later yet although I don't think Im gonna see it anytime soon.

what do you think ruined the resident evil movies or what shouldn't have happened in it.

Bang. Goldeneye Wins with an RC-P90.
Best Licensed Game Ever. No Questions Asked. Hands Down. Bags 123. Dibs.

Goldeneye ruled sososososo much it was the ONLY good licensed game (Shudders at thoughts of *Dramatic Music* ET!). Actually most Bond Movie -> Game games are good.

goldeneye is one my favourite games in that style of shooting games, and one that captured it's big screen counterpart very well.

like you said most bond movies and games are good, but goldeneye is my personal favourite shooting/story line games.

street fighter 2 the animated movie was good (the live action movie sucked) any thoughts?
although alpha was crap, watching the scene where Akuma appears from those wooden things is cool specially when he speaks in japanese (cool voice, the bit where he is walking away)

This thread will probably not die anytime soon, too many of these keep getting made.

I'd love to see Devil May Cry as a film, as long as it doesn't go the way of many others and Uwe Bole doesn't lay a finger on it.

I also see no reason why everyone hates Super Mario Brothers, I loved that movie. It may not have had the super colorful world correct, hell it seemed way off on most of it, but it was a great movie. I could be biased though as I loved all the actors but it's one of the only games to movies in my DVD collection. I liked the darker twist they took, even if Yoshi scared me when I first saw it. Good acting, funny dialogue (screw you, Firefox, that's a word), and tons of action.

If I ever see another BloodRayne I may have to kill someone though.

I heard the true fans of RE didn't like the movies, but since I was never really into the games I couldn't give an honest opinion on it in the sense of continuity. I did think the movies, save maybe the last one (why did they add another leading lady?, She could hardly act), were excellent. The entire premise was brilliant and who doesn't love skinless dogs chasing sexy, superhuman ladies down hallways? I was thoroughly impressed by it. I was also told that the developers of the original game actually had no real story in mind, and since they personally worked on the film, they developed a new one. So at least it was what the developers wanted.

I want a Legacy of Kain movie, personally. I think I'd die content if I could see that amazing series brought some seriously needed justice in film (or another game...please...?).

I'll shush now, there's just so many.

I don't care what any one says.
A Splatterhouse film would be great. A Jason Vorhees like hero battling zombies that hang from the ceiling and puke on you before boreworms split open their abdomen and shoot out, sludge monsters in the sewers made of feces, the movie's got everything you'd want in a random popcorn flick for the oddities.
