The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

I was just wondering whether or not other people got the chance to play this amazing game. Based in the beautiful Imperial Province of Cyrodill, you can basically choose your destiny; are you going to be a Fighter or a Mage? Or maybe even an Assassin or a Thief? It overwhelmed how much choice there is and also the detail put in to the game world. Now, I've never played Fable II - but intend to - which is said to contain even more depth, but so far Oblivion is the best RPG I have ever played. I've literally wasted over eighty hours of my life on the main game alone - and I haven't even played its two expansions, Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles yet...

The Morrowind games do not interest me. At all. They are just so boring, much like Fallout 3. It was a gift for me for Christmas, but I returned it the next day, it could not hold my interest at all.

Oblivion is an awesome game and I like it the most because you have so much to do, sidequests, the guilds, the main quest or you can just wander through the huge world.
I haven't played the Shivering Isles but I do have the Knights of the Nine, which I liked as well.

I bought Fable II as well but I have to say that it really dissapointed me, it was way to easy, if you die you just lose some experience, the main quest was very short and you can't even talk to people you can only do expressions like dancing in front of them.

Awesome Bro

i got oblivion for my ps3 a long time ago. I was surprised with it... i hated morrowind but man oblivon was fun. I never got a chance to beat the main quest i just did sidequests and Knights of the Nine... my dude was a paladin

Oblivion is great , there's never a boring moment in it o.o
Like seriously, the game never ends. Its like an MMO but alone.
4billion areas and 400billion quests

I made a separate save file and slaughtered every NPC in the game for fun :]

I played it on the PC and have tons of mods for it. Some quests are pretty boring, some make you use the slow wait option for too long (Glarthir), and I got sick of the Oblivion gates ever since I entered the first one.

Otherwise, I play the game pretty often. Right now I modded the game so it takes a lot more stolen goods to get the next Thieves guild quest. It's too easy to reach the 1000 Gold you need to get all the thieves guild quests, I got 8000 without much trouble. I also have the Thieves arsenal mod which adds arrows which makes noise to distract people, a blunt weapon that stuns people but does no damage, rope arrows and more.

Otherwise a lot of the mods I use are just for looks only, like clothing mods, adding a Dwemer airship, adding stuff to the terrain, boosting up the graphical quality, stuff like that. It was a mistake to have an Adrenaline mod which boosts the amount of enemies you encounter in the world with a Thief character. I did get a gun mod though so if I just don't feel like fighting with normal swords, I use that and one hit KO stuff. And a bullet time mod just for the fun of it as well as a combat animation mod. Get some shields that look like off hand weapons with that and it looks like you're fighting with both weapons. One of the most useful mods I have though is one that allows you to carry everything you want. I can't go without that mod.

Open Better cities is nice too, but I want to wait until I'm done with the main guild/plot quests so that it doesn't interfere with them.

Also, for some reason I messed up something and now every crab is giant.

I like some of the clothing and rewards you get from Shivering Isles, but on a whole I didn't like playing it. I haven't tried Knights of the Nine yet but it doesn't seem too interesting to me. I just get mods to allow stuff from Shivering Isles to be sold in Cyrodiil.

Ive got a special place in my heart for the elder scrolls games. I made mods for Morrowind for years, and still have a couple projects I work on from time to time. The construction set is so much better than rpgmaker.

Oblivion was a pretty big letdown, they made it more of an action game, like a 3d diablo and took away some of the things that made Morrowind a "hardcore" rpg. Like skill requirements for joining a guild for instance. In oblivion a guy with no magic skills at all can become the leader of the mages' guild which is freaking retarded.

I love the Elder Scrolls games ... It's just too bad that between mods and how big the game itself is that I never actually finish the story. Seriously, I've played Oblivion since the day it came out, have logged more than 100 hours and have yet to go to the Abbey.

 HERETIC
I loved all fallouts and elder scrolls fallout 3 wasn't as good but still a great game (end sucked though)
i've played all elder scrolls all have been fun for me
only in elder scrolls 3 was the fact that you got OP too fast and the bloody cliff racers (flying things that traveled in packs and caried uber diseases)
Elder scrolls 4 was upsetting cause the creature auto lvled so bandit would summon deadra lords and 4 rats together could kill a lvl 40 fighter (which is BS)

oblivioin was fun until i realized you can summon a single daedroth and just follow him to the ends of the earth and never even have to lift a finger @_@

morrowind is the best rpg ever. both expansions were godly, and they actually challenged me. i was at level 54 before i even played the tribunal expansion and those fucks in the sewers with the ebony darts were annihilating me. it seems like each elder scrolls game gets easier than the last.. i couldn't even get out of the first fucking dungeon in the elder scrolls 2. i tried like 14 times. morrowind posed a threat at times. oblivion never even challenged me until i hit that damn feldew cave. at this rate, the elder scrolls VI will practically play itself.
