The Cry Of The Shadow Heart

hmm, good melody, flows nicely. buut, i think the tempo is a tiny bit slow to sound "battle" and i think the drums could use some work, thats pretty much it, i think the drums are the only downfall to this song, i really like the little breakdown in the middle, its extremely simple but just sounds good

I beleive he only uploads his files for people to comment and critique them.

this is interresting - especially after the last few 8bit things you have going on. i don't think it's too slow, tbh. i dont know if it's just your snare, or if you're using a tom and a snare at the same time, but that was kinda weird man @_@

the piano work was really cool, and i enjoyed it, but there seemed to be a bit too much reverb on it. there was this constant ringing around in the background that -when turned up - was borderline annoying. :\

synth was super rpg-grade-cheese.

really nice composition tho. the way it kept changing was cool, and makes for a good battle music sequence. the part with the lone piano was really cool, are you a pianist, or did you just program this stuff? either way you've got skill.

Lol, thanks. I was using FL Studio way before the 8-bit music. I was just interested in it due to playing old megaman games. Then I heard Gulch's durance of the sheep and I was enthralled.

Yea, I was using tom and snare. XD.

I used to play piano, but My mind always wanted to do complicated stuff, but my body couldn't. Simply said, my abilities weren't up to where I wanted them to be. SO, I just did all the piano stuff in the program. I'll tone down the piano reverb next time, since I"m making another version of this.

What's funny was that this was supposed to be a regular battle theme, but I think it's more of a boss theme.

Jeeze, do you think you could turn the piano into sheet music? I'd personally love to play this at my schools summer concert.

Anyway, it's really nice - but I personally think it wouldn't suit a typical battle, perhaps suiting more a battle in which the player is forced to fight against someone he knows, something that requires a more emotionally painful battle, as the song is really deep. The bit with just the piano and deep drums is amazing.

I also agree with Cruelty about the reverb, it got a bit annoying.

But yeah, I'd honestly say I love this song. To be honest, I clicked the link because I read 'The Cry of Shadow' and thought of shadow screaming :x

Gaarafan, why would you put it in the game if you weren't gonna put it in the published version? You might as well not put it there at all. Can't you listen to it using windows media player?

Yeah I can but I just like how it sounds and it goes very well with my game. If I can't use it for the published version then I'll take it out and replace it once I almost publish it.

Sorry guys. I haven't been on in a while.

Thank you Cruelty for the compliment.
The shadow screaming bit made me laugh.

I wish I could turn it into a piano sheet for you, but I don't know how to do that...

Umm...Sure, I guess for gaara. You MUST.....MUST take it out of you published version or any demo you make. If I find out that you failed to comply, I will NEVER release any more of my songs.

sondex just got done listening to your song and i must say it was beautiful, and you said you used a program called FL Studio 8, I use a music site called Wolfram it generates music in different styles but I don't think it can produce music such as the one you did cause your music is absolutely wonderful!

Also a little idea you could do in one of your next songs if you do any, well you could try out this instrument if FL Studio 8 has it in the program it's called Ocarina and it plays good if used in the correct style i guess but you should test it out in a song lol.

But still Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful Song just wonderful keep up the good work.

Sorry about the long wait, but I decided to see if anyone said anything and it appears so.

Thank you very much for your compliment. I haven't seen the ocarina yet, but I'll take a look now. Maybe I'll use it in a future song.
