Story
It was so long ago...

...So very long ago... I'm sure we were all meant to die that day. The world smouldered in the fires of war, and the destruction wrought upon the land, our own doing, was so vast that the very air we breathed was a toxin. Pestilence ran rampant as the fighting died down and surely we were doomed.
But the shadow cast over the land parted. Such a sight to behold! A beautiful blue light pierced the dark mist and though I caught only a glimpse, a great winged creature smiled upon us.

We were saved! Saved by these strange creatures, and allowed to live on isles in the sky. The place became paradise...

Three hundred years later, Felix Grey and Saki Murasaki are studying for their entrance exams to get into university, and Albert Phenninger is helping the school commitee decorate for graduation. It has been a long time since the war ended, and though the world below the floating isles is parched and dry, there is news of forests springing up.

Hope fills the hearts of the last of humanity again.

News that does not reach the ears of the Isles inhabitants is that there are human civilizations growing on the world below. Two great cities have risen up from the ashes and the hard labor of those left behind. Benglamor, ruled by a cruel and cunning Maharaja and Paradrin, ruled by a kind yet incompetant Sultan.

The Sultan, hoping to avoid war with Benglamor, arranges for his eldest daughter Kenna to marry the Maharaja as a gift of peace. His youngest daughter, unwilling to let her sister suffer sells her soul to one of six serpents in exchange for beauty and magic power. She takes her sister's place in hopes to assassinate the Maharaja and bring Benglamor under the rule of Paradrin.

Humanity is ready to rise again. But from the Isles, the youngest Guardian Egret can see that hatred still lingers in the hearts of humans. And he fears that they will make the same mistakes again and bring the world to ruin.

Felix Grey: Felix is an athletic and boyish youth. She enjoys gymnastics, martial arts and horseback riding. She also has rather sticky fingers. In other words, she's a bloody sneak thief. Not only that, she's a cunning liar; her innocent face a clever ruse for the criminal mastermind underneath. Only those truly close to her have seen her softer side.

Saki Murasaki: The last born of three triplets. Saki is a very pretty young lady who tries everything short of self mutilation to be anything but. Intelligent and athletic, Saki is a well rounded student skilled in alchemy and kickboxing. When the Isles collapse, her wish is granted.

Albert Phenningher: A good student and even better archer, Albert is a loyal and trustworthy person. A childhood friend of Saki and Felix, he harbours a not-so-secret infatuation with the Murasaki Triplets.

Lena: The first grandchild of Nokram, born from the pearl of Egret, Lena is one of the mysterious creatures that maintains the Isles and ensures that fighting doesn't break out among humans. Because it is still in adolescent, it knows little of emotion and is governed by logic only. When it learns of Egret's plans, Lena faces its' first emotional dilemna.

Kiro: A plain looking princess of one of the kingdoms on the world below. She sold her soul to a serpent in exchange for beauty and power so that she might take her sister's place in the Maharaja's wedding bed, and have an opportunity to assassinate him. Kiro is a brave and dedicated young woman, trying to keep her emotionally unstable father from breaking down under the pressure of ruling a kingdom. Kiro fears nothing, not torture, not death, not even Hell itself.

Mikheil Jeine: Self-proclaimed King of Thieves, (well, he's at the very least the leader of the Red Stone bandits), Mikheil came about his position in a most curious manner. He was found in the desert after leaving home to seek his fortune by the bandits former leader. He remembered everything about his life except two hours, in which he was sure was the time his eye was ripped out of his head. A skilled swordsman, he seeks answers as to why his eye was removed.

Other significant characters:

Nokram: Little is known about the first Guardian except that it used her power to dispel the Black Mist, build the Floating Isles, and birth the second generation of Guardians.

Egret:
Of the four children born from Nokram's last light, Egret is the youngest and the quickest to develop. Egret cares deeply for its siblings and resents humanity.

The Sultan of Paradrin:
A kind man surrounded by a corrupt counsel. He is slowly losing his mind.

The Maharaja of Benglamor:
A ruthless, cunning man. He seeks immortality and to claim the reborn world as his own.

Kenna:
When Kiro left, Kenna joined the sisterhood to seek divine power so that she might aid and protect her sister. As an acolyte with significant alchemic power and skill in technomancy, it was a stroke of luck when she found Saki after the Isles fell. Able to give Saki a functional mechanical arm, she now works hard with Maki and Chiaki to create an eye to replace the one she lost.

Maki and Chiaki:
Saki's two business-minded sisters. While they may seem like a couple of useless tightwads, they are more than willing to help out their sister.

Peche:
A powerful and deadly sorceress. She reads the Time Steam and knows much.
...She shares very little of this knowledge though, unless you can meet her strange prices...

I agree with Twin Marix, Pheche's right breast looks kind of like someone played tug-o-war with it :-/ I don't think the mapping's that bad, the ground (especially the grass) just needs some texturing with little objects.

I remember seeing this game ages ago; I'm glad you've started working on it again. I'm a little bit confused as to what's going on in the story though ^_^

The boobs are aliiiiiiiive and constantly in motion. And believe me, if anyone tried to rape Peche, she'd just have to wink and they'd implode. Law of videogames #376: Never even think of messing with mysterious magical woman with large, barely covered breasts :#

And fear not! The maps shown are anything but permanent and prone to be fixed at the drop of a hat. I still need to add various bits and pieces as well as NPCs to liven them up a bit. ^^

While I'm in this subject, I'd like the point out how very childish it is to go "OMG NUDITY!" over some of the pictures. I haven't actually read through the entire topic, but just looking at the characters shows me that this game is heavily inspired by ancients gods and goddesses, who were often depicted as topless or wearing clothes made of gauzy material. I have seen several pictures of Isis as such while browsing through Egyptian Mythology.

As for Peche's giganormous boobs that are half hanging out... judging from the small description and the attitude of her pose, she seems to be the type that considers herself close to the gods -- basically rather arrogant.

However, as for Saki's pic in the screenshots... no. Just no. I don't care how pert your nipples are, if you're wearing (I hope) a bra, a shirt, a vest, AND a jacket, they are NOT going to be showing through.

As for the game itself, it seems to be a very well thought out and beautiful game. My only complaint is that your mapping in some of the screens need some work. The second to the last one is beautiful. The last one... I dunno what you were trying to do there, but it didn't work. And the school (?) in the first few suffers from wide open space syndrome. Other than that, I'm quite looking forward to where this game might go.
