Test if 'Action Key' is being pressed

Is there an easy script you can call to see if the Action Key is being pressed? I'm using it to select events, but I can't unselect events without testing if it's being pressed. And I don't want to use some odd button in the conditional branch.

I can get it to work in a parallel process but in the current loop I'm using for some reason it will never register...probably because it's so hard for it to land on the exact frame. I hate this method of testing buttons...I'll probably have to have a second parallel process just for this button test.

EDIT: Nevermind, I don't think there's any way to immediately cause a parallel process to break the loop of another event. I'm not sure how to do this then...
