Test Game Not Responding

I can run the Editor but when i attempt to Test Game it shows up with a non responding window which i have to close to return to editor which makes it very annoying since i cannot test my work. I have Attempted Numerous internet solutions yet nothing has worked. I run it on Vista which i know is a bit lame on RPG Maker. I have both versions of Rpg maker XP and VX. Please Help me Figure this out. any solutions or suggestions would be helpful.

you have both legal versions right?

have you pasted any scripts in the script editor?

do you run your Rpg Maker XP / VX in Administrator mode?

I'm having the same problem plus some. Do you have vista? Also you can test your game when you save it by just clicking on it instead of using the Test Button.

Have Both Legal Versions Run it as Admin with compatibility to xp sp2. Using Vista 64 Home Premium SP1. Reinstalling does nothing, the correct files are in place i.e. RGSS102E.

1. Do you all use Vista?
2. When did the problems start?
3. If it was recently, have you also recently updated your computer with Windows Update or Microsoft Update?

no, don't activate the compatibility to xp sp2. try unchecking that, then checking
the box with PRIVILEGE LEVEL : ADMINISTRATOR (i think at the bottom of that window)

Vista, privilege level already at admin. So far the Test Project thing has never worked. I've messed with the privilege levels and opening settings on both the game and RM a million times and they only thing I can do is break it further if I wanted to. I can't think of why this is happening.
VX has no problems though but I'm leaning towards XP for my game.

Try unchecking the compatibility mode thing and press ok, and just simply right click the program and "Run as administrator".
