Aside from the blatantly copied FF1 styled sprites, it looks fun enough.

Like I told you on MSN the game looks REALLY interesting and fun, but damn if building stuff doesn't look incredibly awkward, they made building that house look SO hard...

Looks kind of interesting, but I don't see what would make it 1000x better than minecraft. Would be cool to see on a handheld, but doesn't look like the kind of game I want to sit at my computer to play.

I can tell you right now I will play this game obsessively.

I might die in front of my computer.

This is EXACTLY the sort of game I would make if I had the talent, but I would use smaller sprites. I'm excited to see how it turns out with later content patches.

Hmmm, I don't have steam. But it is only six quid. Is it worth setting up a steam account I will probably only use once?

there's no reason to not have a steam account. you can buy TONS of games through steam. honestly, i don't see why one wouldn't want one. games are saved to the account, and you cand download them to any computer. www.terraria.com i'm sure you can buy straight from him, too.

I'll try and get a lets play up as soon as possible, but let me just say this game is amazing. It tops minecraft in almost every way rpg-wise. Also building is really intuitive, and exploration is huge in this game. Also, instead of having to blindly craft, once you get the materials for an object, you will get an icon to craft it when you are at a certain crafting table (furnace, crafting table, anvil, etc.). Buy it. Its only $10 ffs.

Edit: Also, items are tied to character not worlds, so you can take all your items to a friends world.

yes. i don't think i'm going to play minecraft again any time soon.. this game is just so much better. the ONLY problem i'm having right now is apparently there's lag when you play (might just be cause no dedicated servers?). so monsters teleport when you hit them, and appear behind you and you get hit a shit ton. however, there's no real problem with dying except losing half your money which you can put in a chest anyway.. so again, there's no penalty for dying, except for the long respawn time

i mean, seriously. there's npcs, you can make houses for people to move in, which creates your town.. right now my friend and i have a demolitionist and a merchant that moved in.

just got a nurse to move in..

also, the water physics are cool too. if you find a little lake, and dig things beneath the water, the water level lowers. only downside to that i see is that you won't be ab le to make waterfalls, at least not yet

i am really tempted to buy this but I dont know if i should? I heard that it is like buying the beta of a game and that it was released too soon, but there will be updates in the future.
Anyways, it looks fun. Any other opinions on whether to buy it? How bad is the lag?

lag is only on multiplayer. 0 lag on singleplayer. and even then it isnt THAT bad

so i caved in and bought it.
so far, it is a little awkward building stuff and i wish i could input custom controls because i keep clicking Q for the menu and it is a pain in the ass when i drop stuff

I am also a little confused on what to do. One thing I do like is that there is more of an urgency. I feel like the more i delve, the more monsters will appear. So far it is really cute.

Also, ive found building to be really easy once you get the hang of it. It sure is easier only having two worry about 2 dimensions instead of 3.
