Terrain Encounter

I'd like a script that defines encounters according to the terrain in a specific area of the map. For instance, in the grass, you meet bug monsters and in water, you meet fish monsters. Does that script exist?

Does VX have terrain tags?  Because that would make this much, much easier to do, I betcha.

It doesn't, as far as I know. I couldn't figure out a way to do that, so I'm asking here.
