Temporary ABS System.

For the most part, I've been using the default battle system for my game. I had an idea for a fun mini-game though, and it involves using an ABS battle system. (Think Zelda if you're not sure what it is.) Originally, I was determined to use events. I even managed to make it work somewhat. However, to get it fully work... I've read it's pretty much impossible to do with only events. The question I have is... Would it be possible to use a script for that one area, and then switch it back to the normal battle script after wards? (I'm not quite sure how scripts work, as I've yet to really use them, and I don't want to mess around and mess something up.)
 
The ABS battle scripts do not typically invoke a scene, so yes, you will be able to do this. In reality the ABS runs in scene_map - so calling scene_battle will run the normal battle screen. Very easy to do and quite rewarding, I'm sure.
 
The only problem you'll really have for this is skills and damage will be unbalanced without a lot of tweaking, as you have to make them work equally well in both battle systems (unless you use a different database for each!). DBS stats aren't really very equatable to those needed for an ABS as they're completely different scenarios.
