That was then…
A couple of decades ago travelers from Tyiathelis came upon this planet when doing experiments with a teleportation spell. Apparently, they had annunciated their destination wrong and ended up on the most beautiful planet they had ever seen. After surveying the planet they went back to tell their friends and family about this “wondrous sanctuaryâ€.
These people, now known as the Rilotialites, settled this unknown land, and named it Rilotia, which meant “chosen land†in their native language. They lived in peace for many years, until a purple rip appeared in the sky. When some of the settlers went to investigate they found themselves encompassed by mist. They also saw many creatures pouring out of this rip onto Mount Aleaetia, the tallest mountain in all of Rilotia. From the mountain they spread out like an epidemic, crushing everything and everyone in their path.
Rumors began spreading as to what was actually going on and what was really causing it in this so called paradise. King Siwius, then, ordered all of his knights and mages into action in order to protect the perpetual paradise that he had worked so hard to gain control of. No mortal ever came close to the source of the chaos. The mist became thicker than pea soup and the monsters became too big and powerful. The monsters evetually destroyed any Rilotialite that posed a threat to their reign of terror.
…and this is now
Most cities are either ruins or controlled by monsters, which have been trained by a very powerful wizard, or so they say.
