Well,
I decided that with this year's refund I should improve my productivity, or use it as an excuse to improve my gaming experience.
The upgrade I'm planning is in two phases, first: 3x30" displays followed by 3xGTX 580 via Palit Microsystem's 3GB model once it's released.
So far I've decided on the HP ZR30w Black 30". Based upon its specs it's an in plane switching display (IPS vs TN, or twisted nematic field) which means its processing latency is a bit higher, but given it's a CCFL vs a white LED its color range (30-bit color 1.07B colors vs 24-bit color 16.7M colors or 64 times the color), and uniformity is a bit better. From my understanding of color modes, 32-bit True color doesn't use the alpha channel, effectively making it 24-bits.
I looked at the Dell U3011 ultrasharp, but its processing lag was 23.31 ms giving it an effective max FPS of 42, assuming I understand the meaning of the input processing lag.
Given that I've already decided on upgrading, any suggestions on possible alternative displays?
