Tattoo yourself? Scar yourself? Pierce? Other? What would you do/have had done?

My family is making me get a Puzzle piece with a part of a heart on it, But i can change it to look like what I want.

And for scars/Piercings...Wasn't really my Idea...Nor my cousin's.

We were playing with some Krocket(Sp?) Mallets (those big wooden things that you hit the ball through the little metal goals and you have to hit the wooden stake and then go backwards?) and we were going to see who could hit the Ball the farthest. Well since we were both seven and eight, We really didn't know how far a mallet can reach behind you. So with me being the jackass as I am, Decide to stand just far enough behind him so when he brings the mallet back that it will hit me right in the mouth. This action caused my jaw/lip go upward and my front big tooth decides to go through my bottom lip. My face went numb instantly and I thought that because my face went numb, that my salivation would go uncontrolable and fill my whole mouth. WRONG! I stuck my finger into my mouth, dipping it into the liquidy substance and pulled it out to see that my fingers were covered in blood. I started screaming and then My mother came running outside and snatched me up and ran into the bathroom and told me to spit and take drinks of water after every spit. This was my first scar. I didn't go to the hospital and get stitches either...Now i have a scar right in the middle of the front of my bottom lip.

Geez, everyone's getting witty tattoos or tattoos advertising what's important in their lives *yawn*

What would I do? No-no, what would JESUS do!

I'm getting my hands and feet pierced, and then a scar over my ribcage. Fuckin' A!

I have been wating several tattoos for a long time.
I want my dragon on my right forearm in an emerald green.
http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/pp16/TheUnknownArtistJak/dragon.png[/img]

My finalised Wars remorse logo on my left shoulder. The nobody logo of KH2 on my right shoulder.
The logo from my game MAZE will be placed on the back of my neck
http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/pp16/TheUnknownArtistJak/TitleIcon.png[/img]
I would also lie gir on my left forearm.

Most of all I want a tattoo across thewhole of my back. The lower back will be the Joker in the partially destroyed scene of buildings My mates Reece and Ryan depicted on the two sides of my back fading out from the building similar to the art design to Hilltop Hoods City of Light cover, myfriends Nicola, Tara, Mary and my girlfriend Chantal tatood in my mid/upper back on each side but in between Reece and ryan and a fair bit smaller. Up the upper back will be a yin-yang with black cut out figures of a guy and girl back to back with the words Negative's and positives running above the yin-yang only a tad underneath the MAZE logo. However that will cost several hundred dollars and I can't afford it. One day however when it comes to the day I thank my inspirations it wil be in the form of that One massive tattoo

Oh please god, go get that red symbol tattood on you. I want to know how many squares the artist gets done before he goes "fuck that, im just gonna scribble on you" lol

Yes that is a draw back, I would have to find someone who has patiences and it would be like one of the last ones I get because even though I only plan on getting it as big as my thumb it still take a very long period of time.

I'm planning to get a tattoo and I wanted the same one since I was eight. I want a tattoo of the Griever symbol (from Final Fantasy VIII- the main character's necklace) on my shoulder blade. It's not because it's from that game, it's because it stands for pride, strength, and on a more personal note loneliness. I have to wait another 3 years though, let's see where I stand then =p.
I have both of my earlobes pierced (have since I was five). I have a scar on each knee, and two scars on my right hand, both on my little finger's knuckle. One was from NOT wearing gloves when punching a punching bag in rage, and the other is when I burnt myself then coloured the scab with red pen ink to try to get out of class.
It didn't work :(.
My dad wants to get the skin in between all of his fingers pierced. He also has some freakin' wicked tattoos. My mum also has a tattoo, on her shoulder blade, which I noticed about 3 years ago lol.
I guess that's kind of influenced me :/.

You people realize what scarification is right?
It's not, oh look I have a scar.  I mean some are just mentioning scars they have.

It's like a tattoo however you are not injuring the body to insert ink, but doing so on a much more intense level so that you leave scars in a design

Branding is a form of scarification, where you burn your skin for the same purpose (in several ways - some use quick bouts of electrical surges, others heated cut metals).

It is NOT scrapping your knees and having a scar.  I do not practice scarification because I have a scar from having organs removed and other surgeries, I'd practice scarification to permanently and purposely leave a mark of intent on my body.  Which I actually would do, preferably branding specifically actually.  As I stated.  See the difference?

Yeah, I saw a program on TV about scarification. This girl had been in a car crash where somehow she had a diagonal line of circle punctures from her shoulder, over her collar bone an stopped just above the top of the breasts, so she went to one of the places where they do scarification (It's just an addon to a tattoo parlor isn't it?) anyways, she got an idetenticle scar on the otherside so now they look like a necklace. Half life-sustained and half synthetic scars.

I loled at the kid wanting the final fantasy tattoo and chronicling his bumps and scrapes XD.

It's not because it's from that game, it's because it stands for pride, strength, and on a more personal note loneliness.

if that's the case couldn't you get something that personally signifies those things as relevant to you instead of an arbitrary image created by a video game company and made to stand for the main character's hackneyed shit?

I'm not tattooing a logo of any sort on me unless I get paid.

I don't want a tattoo yet. not because I find tattooing, piercing, or scarification grotesque, but because I simply can't trust myself to like the same thing for any length of time. there have already been two eras of my life that I've looked back on and contemplated hanging myself because of how much of an idiot I was, and I'm only 17. my personal tastes are bound to change a little more over the course of my life, and I'd rather wait until I'm further out of the Woods of Personal Development to get anything that'll stick with me all the way through.

ultimaodin, this ties into your shit too. you are 18 years old, and I can guarantee that, like me, you are a pretentious deluded moron with little to no capacity for forethought. there's no magical switch that toggles the moment you pass the 18th anniversary of your birth, and so I guarantee that you suffer from those weaknesses as I do. I suggest you don't just yet. the huge montage of friends and loved ones on your back -- how do you know that within ten years you'll want to have anything to do with them? I guarantee at least that you'll go through at least a couple more girlfriends before settling down. the game thing -- what if the project is a flop? what if you move on to greater things that are much more worthy of a neck tat?

when getting a tattoo it's important that it's personally significant to you, but also that you'd be able to stand it for the rest of your life. there are ways to remove tattoos, but that's trouble and cost you'd be better off avoiding. anything that says "THIS IS MY LIFE RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW" would not do well inscribed on your back in ink, because I guarantee (I'm making a lot of guarantees aren't I) that your life will change. so pick something that's not only significant, but has staying power! no ex-girlfriends on your back (because that's awkward to explain to your new one!)

Im going to get a heartless logo because I feel that life has betrayed me. Oh well im at it, im going to get Cloud strife's face tatooed on me because I believe that i am like him (the final fantasy character quiz told me so!). I think i'd like a few anime hentai chicks on me because I like girls. The enterbrain logo because it shows that I'm creative. All of my families and friends names topped with a heart with "mommi and daddy" in it on that little angelic scrolly writing.

Seriously, I swear if you made a topic named "if you had to get a tattoo, what would you have?" instead of this slightly obscure one, this is what you'd get. Many people say they're going to get a tattoo, I remember back when I was 16 and I had this picture that I'd drawn, re-revised and re-re-revised over and over untill I was sure it was what I wanted. But in reality it was a mix of tribal art, yin and yang and a heart shape.

Seriously, don't do the tattoo thing unless you really must. It's a cry for attention in most cases, because if not, why not just draw the image and have it framed in your room / house? Why does it need to be perminately on your body?

If you're trying to go with the symbolic thing, just get a dot, a single dot, yup just like a full stop, as a tattoo. Why? Simply because it can represent unity (one dot instead of many millions), solitude (oh poor dot all alone), heroism (wow, that dot is standing alone when all else has run away). Or even friendship (this dot is for you).

You know what's even better, most people won't even notice it and probably mistake it for a mole so you don't even havent to screw up your body with perminant final fantasy adverts. :P

Lol, just my take.

Aw, let the kids get their tattoos. If they regret it later then they've learned a lesson for LIFE!

Anyway, Bluehazed, you got that girl's digits man?

Heh no. I thought she was hot too though.
It was the only picture of someone with double septum rings on the intertubes within 3 seconds.

I actually assisted Gratheo in it's unique tattoo. It was quite an accomplishment, something totally unique in this day and age for such a totally unique individual.

First, I bent apart a wire hanger. Then I turned the stove on to about 350, let it heat up for about 10 minutes, and put the hanger in for about 4 or 5 hours.

After it was red hot, I slowly inserted it into it's anus and it made like a PSSSSSSSSSSSSS noise, giving it permanant scaring on it's rectum like no other human being on earth has. It's quite a beautiful art expression.
