AWESOME!!! XD Jimmy can I know what script you do to make the battle end style? where you can see the exp gain and the items you gain after the battle ends.. T__T  its too awesome T__T ::)

Jimmy did you rip all of your sprites, just curious? They look like Tales of Phantasia,
and Swordcraft Story II. Your battlers look like a small one version of them, the ones from Swordcraft Story.
 
hey i was wondering to u have everyones voices if u don't i got every single voice but for tales of phantasia the problem each character voices are all compressed in to 1 wave sound and each one of them a pretty big (around 48MB) but it has every single voice that they do even the spells that they can't obtain (i think maybe through swordian disks) so yea i was wondering if u wanted it or all
 
Looks quite intresting. I played some of the demo and it seems fun enough and entertaining. Ill post a review once im done. Definatly looking forward to the complete version
 
I got a lot of Tile set done and since this has been bumped I might as well update this Topic with screen shot and Edit Game Dialogue.
 
Please, please, PLEASE change the HORRIBLY INCONSISTENT FLASHY MENUS. The third menu looks ballin', the others look absolutely horrible.

This game looked absolutely stunning, but those things looked REALLY out of place and it felt like a punch in the balls.

I really wanted to try the demo too.. But seriously, I'm a huge Tales fan and this story is reminding me of Tales of Phantasia. With the Mana tree and then Tales of the Abyss since a boss is named Abyss..  Great references n' all, but Tales as a Turned based system?  That's no fun!  Tales was meant to be either a side Scrolling ABS like Phantasia, Legendia, Eternia, Destiny, Symphonia or a full run around Star Ocean ABS like the Abyss and Tales of the World

Well all in all Everyone here would love a decent working Full Motion Battle System and trust me the battle system was the 1st thing I wanted to do. I do have 2 version of a FMBS and i can work them just fine, but the part is the script Limits your movements even worst than the ToP GBA Version. I will make 2 version of this game if possible if there is a great "Not just good" FMBS out there.

also this Fan game will have many references to Tales.

You have a point there.  But there are many great ABS's out there.  Hell, I'm using an ABS from XAS to do my Star Ocean Game I'm making.  It's working really great, it just takes a while to get used to and learn the tricks to it.  But, regardless, I'll still play your game because I'm interested.  I guess I'll have to wait for another upload time for the demo?

Why always crystals??? Really, that's so cliché. You may want to rethink your story.

Graphically it looks okay, but kinda low res for a RMXP game

I don't really mind Criticism, but do not just give me weak Criticism by just spitting the words "This is cliché" for the future don't just give me 7th grade Criticism it already been done on the 1st page.

I know man, but c'mon... Crystals... Can't you come up with something different, but similar at the same time? I'm not trying to piss you off, but this has been done so many times... Crystals rule the world and some evil bitch steals em blablabla.
 
well originality is really hard to achieve, not only that, some people try to make something original to hard, and push it to an extend where it's even more stupid. Old time themes like love conquers all or power in team work, yeah, it's over used and predictable, but I rather enjoy that, I mean, I've seen people who try to make story lines where the main character is just, unseen in normal rpgs. Their super powerful, amazing in every aspect, always a loner, and really, I mean, it's not as enjoyable if they don't know how to pull it off.

As a player, we're only human, and as a rpg, it's role playing, so fundamentally it's about getting connected with the characters you know?

Personally, if it's a original Tales game, it should at least have the feel of all the other Tales, I mean, cliche or not, thats only the core, it's all about how you cover that up and make it interesting in it's own right.
