How the hell is Sonic not dead yet?

Overall, no info so far, beyond the fact that Sonic apparently fights with a sword. Lovely.

i've seen stuff on the bioware sonic rpg and sonic unleashed, and those looked really good!

this sword bullshit is just going to be more sonic team shovelware >_>

don't they realize that, if they want to make a 3d sonic again, to just do Sonic Adventure 2, except with O-N-L-Y sonic levels, and a fixed camera????? i mean those sonic/shadow levels were fun as shit but then you had to play the other characters, which really brought the game down :/

it's really not that hard of a concept!!!!

and why the hell would sonic EVER need a weapon??? his body is pretty much MADE of swords????????????

yeah those games were good as hell

sonic advance was good too, and ... uhh the one for the DS where you also play as a cat (her levels were more fun because they were harder )

The only thing more ridiculous on that magazine cover than sonic with a sword, is the background text, "Nintendo Power".
Really though, those guys have gone too far. :/

Sonic is starting to look like Metaknight.  Maybe they met up in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Sonic beat the sword and glove off of Metaknight.

But, doesn't a sword completely defeat the purpose of a Sonic game?  Unless it's an RPG or something, they're just running out of ideas at this point.

yea(x3), yea, yea, and no.
all of the oldschool sonic titles become unplayable after like 3 levels.

still, most anything is an improvement over the recent sonic titles. they've all been lame.

haha sonic with a sword... i instantly thought wii game and to my surprise i saw that it was... the only reason i can think that they gave sonic a sword is to use the waggly remote.

on other sonic news the other 2 ones look alot more interesting, tho i lol'd when i saw sonic go feral. The bioware one should be interesting (as i am a bioware fanboy) and IF i actually go out and buy one of theses games this will be the only one with a chance.

Although S&K, being a continuation of the third, was ridiculously hard. I couldn't get through the second zone even. (well I did, but I cheated xD)

sonic and knuckles was hard? it's the only one i actually finished without the use of supersonic. knuckles levels were ridiculously hard, tho. that crazy metal super sonic is forever burned into my memory.

btw, by unplayable, i mean it they get terribly boring, and the sprites of sonic 1,2, and s&K are hideous (well drawn, still hideous).

i could never beat sonic 2. metal sonic was retard-strong. in the unlikely event i beat him, i never lasted more than like 12 seconds against the giant robot.
really, those games all relied on prior knowledge of the bosses attack and movement patterns, a splash of luck, and little to no real skill.
