Author's Notes
I posted a thread like this ages ago (almost a year if I recall) and then my personal life got in the way and I had to halt this project, so I'm posting again to start a clean slate - so to speak.
I've been in the Rpg-Making Circuit since around late 2000 under various names.
I've seen the progression from RM2K to 2K3 and now to XP and I've not ever completed one project. However, I want to take one final stable at it before calling it quits.
I've been thinking whether or not it's the best idea to post this thread (I'm my biggest critic, as I'm sure many others are, and I tend to dislike a lot of the stuff I do). I've never been the greatest spriter or coder, however I do try my best, I feel my true calling is as a writer and I hope that comes across as people watch my project develop.

Story Synopsis
The world of Elmind is one of strife and a world where a true hero is as mythical as the dragons that once held dominion over the world.
The humans that populate the world live in fear, with a recent uprising of a large group of outlaws and mysterious attacks on villages the few good men and women left in the world have joined up to form the Brotherhood of Elmind, an organisation dedicated to ridding the world of evil so that the peace may once again return to the lands.
The current King (Andreas V) had believed so strongly in the ways of peace that he disbanded any army that he had under his control and because of this many soldiers and knights were left without jobs or purpose in life. A Marshal named Yaren felt that the King was ridiculous to do such a thing and as such banded together with a few other like minded ex-knights and began orchestrating attacks on defenseless villages to prove his point. Pretty soon this small band of outlaws had the likeness of an empire with footholds all over the world causing fear in the hearts of the innocent. However, not all the ex-soldiers joined Yaren's cause and a small number of them joined the Brotherhood; being already trained and elite in the arts of combat, this group were made the highest ranking squad, often going in to fight the harder battles and leaving "clean up" teams to finish off what's left of the enemy and round them up to put them in prisons. King Andreas, though not reforming an army for Elmind, has pushed the government of the world to provide the Brotherhood with funding to increase the quality – and quantity – of their members to help put a stop to this threat.
The main outlaw threat is not the only problem, there are fairly high amounts of independent brigands and outlaw gangs that are wrapped up in their own fights to gain land and influence throughout Elmind and there are small divisions of the Brotherhood fighting against those whilst the elite teams and the bulk of the Brotherhood fight against the larger threats.
Recently though, the elite squads were called to investigate the mysterious attacks and as of yet no clues have been found, no survivors, nothing. With the elite teams away the Outlaw effort has become increasingly difficult and the outlaws have increased their numbers nearer the capitol cities....
This is the story of one soldier named Corus. Corus was recently promoted to the Sweeper Division, their job in the Brotherhood is to go in ahead of the others to establish a foothold in regions where there are high levels of Outlaw activity and then bide time until the Elite team and the rest arrive to push the attack and ultimately quell the opposition. After a few small jobs in towns and villages, the Sweepers have been sent into initiate a series of the strikes in and around the City of Itina, a city that the Outlaws claim as their own and their base of operations. However, this is also a region that has been suffering these mysterious attacks on Villages...
Characters
The Characters below are the main figureheads of the story. Although there will be more information of the other characters here later, I will start off with the main ones now. Also, just a quick note on the graphics, I know frankenspriting isn't big nor is it clever, but since the Brotherhood is a uniformed organisation it seemed logical.
Corus

Bio: Having been recently promoted from the Rookie "Clean up team", Corus has a new air of self-confidence, before he was quiet and very doubtful of his abilities as a soldier, however since being moved up to the Sweepers, Corus has began noticing his abilities and isn't afraid to speak his mind. His confidence is often seen as arrogance by the more veteran Soldiers.
Born into an average family, Corus felt that he was destined to a mundane life style. His father was a shop keep and his mother was a house wife. Corus desired more from life, wanting what is best for his family and friends, Corus suprised everyone by joining the Brotherhood and, after spending several months in the rookie ranks of the Clean up teams, got promoted to the Sweeper division.
Marie

Rank: Corporal (or Scout Corporal)
Bio: One of the more experienced recruits in the Sweepers, Marie is in the same squad as Corus and is commanded by Sergeant Asher. She often keeps quiet and follows orders however she's not afraid to take charge and organise her comrades when the time arises.
Having been raised near Itina, Marie learned first hand what the outlaws were capable of and due to this she joined up with the brotherhood. What keeps her going is the thought of having vengeance against an Outlaw who was with Yaren when they attacked Marie's village near Itina and killed her brother. Marie is very fast and a skilled shooter, her politeness and respect to elders has gained her a strong reputation with the higher ranked soldiers.
Sergeant Asher

Rank: Sergeant (same for Sweepers)
Bio: Strict and very much a stern figurehead, Asher is everything one would expect from a Sergeant in such a dangerous field; never in the mood for jokes during a mission. Asher is quick to anger and can't stand incompetence. He's a good leader and can quickly earn respect among other soldiers.
His rank shows his dedication to the Brotherhood considering there aren't many soldiers who attain a rank higher than Corporal. Asher is commited to the cause and defends it with an almost fanatical devotion for an unknown reason. It seems that Asher is two different people at different times. When in the field he's strict and a bold leader, however when he's not he's a polite, jokey person and likes a good laugh. His strict persona has been tested by Corus' over confidence since Corus was promoted into his squad.
Yaren
Age: 34
Gender: Male
Outlaw Leader
Bio: The leader of the Outlaws and a clear point of focus for the Brotherhood's mission; not much is known about Yaren since his formation of the Outlaws. However he was the model soldier; merciless, emotionless and was willing to do anything to achieve victory, no matter the cost.
Yaren became a bitter man leading up to the disbanding of the army and finally snapped when he was asked to leave the house of arms (the political house where military affairs were often discussed). Yaren used his reputation and his persuasiveness to gather up a small band of people to form the Outlaws which has since grown into the almost tyrannical force it is today.
