Have you ever had something mystical or supernatural happen to you?
I don't know if what I experienced was real, or just my imagination. I was raised in a Christian home, never took drugs or even drank at all. But during my freshman year of college, I was browsing my school's library one lonely friday night, and I stumbled upon the occult section. Although I was raised a Christian, I enjoyed playing RPGs and reading fantasy books. The Occult, and Magic were fascinating areas of interest to me, so that night, I took out a satanic book dealing with black Magic, and for fun, so I thought, I made a small prayer to satan to show me if he was real. About three weeks after that night, I experienced terrifying "visions"; whether they were truly satanic, or just my imagination, I do not know to this day. My mind was flooded with flashes of horrifying images in my mind, like scenes you might find in a horror movie. And these attacks would not cease but would continue on terrifying me, and I heard scary voices, and screams, and moanings. I had thought at the time, I was looking into hell. I never take drugs so I cannot attribute this to any chemical reaction. I do have an active imagination but I couldn't stop or divert my mind away from these images. It was like an attack on my mind. Because of this, I could not sleep for I was terrified. I prayed to God to cast away these attacks if they were satanic. And the more I prayed, the more strongly these attacks came. Until finally, these visions vanished.
The next day, I lost all interest in the Occult, and learned to not mess around with satan or the occult. But for several weeks, I kept having terrifying visions, and each time I had these attacks, I prayed to God to cleanse my mind of these horrifying visions. Then finally, one night, I was sleeping on my bed in my dormitory room. My roommate was fast asleep. And I experienced what is now commonly described as sleep paralysis. I had never heard this term before, and it was only years later when I heard this term that I understood this was exactly what I had experienced. My mind was caught in a semi-conscious state, having awoken from sleep but not fully awake. And I saw a dark person sit on my chest, it's face sucking my breath. He had no detail that I could make out. He was shadowy, and dark. I could not move for the muscles of my body were paralyzed. And time seemed to slowed down. I could not breathe, and with each long second, I panicked. It was only by prayer that I was released from this paralysis and emerged fully into conscious state. But it was no dream because I remember vividly how I tried to scream my closed mouth to my roommate but could not.
Even as I type this, I feel chills go down my spine. The occult is not to be messed around with. Though I still sometimes read a fantasy book, I no longer have any interest in the Occult or satanic activities.
The above is 100% non-Fiction, and not exaggerated in any way.
