super noobish question (how to start scripting?)

... uh... i've been reading up on how to script and i cant find anything that tells me how to start. I'm finding stuff that teaches me how to script but i have no idea if i need a program or anything like that... do i need to download a program?

No all you really need is Rpg maker and A script starter!

Why don't you design a custom HUD window that exists during Scene_Map. There should be a tutorial for such a thing on this site.
