Suggest music for the above user

The idea here is to suggest music for the above user to listen to that you think will be of interest to them. You post a track for them (can be just the track and artist name or a link to a stream, w/e) then list three bands you would like to find some sort of advancement from.

Obviously I can't go, so I'll start us off.

I don't really like Captain Beefheart all that much outside of Frank Zappa's stuff, but it's...err...definitely special. Yeah. Some people like it, so I dunno, maybe you will?

Well to make this thread not shit I'LL START FROM THE BEGINNING.

The Smiths - listen to the Chameleons, specifically the album 'Script Of The Bridge' because their other stuff is pretty hit and miss.
Klaxons - eh too many to choose from. With so many bands sounding like them now it's tricky to find any that are particularly good. I will say this, this and this though.
Justice - again, lots of copycats now, but one of my favourite bands so I know a lot of similar stuff. Does It Offend You, Yeah? are great despite their name (you probably know them anyway though), Boys Noize do the distorted electro well but sometimes with a bit TOO much distortion...I really love The Black Ghosts right now, two members ex-Simian, do a lot of clean electro but strangely dark. It's good.

Anyway, for me, I won't go for outright indie or electronic music because not many fans here I'd imagine...

Pulp - Steering around the obvious early Cocker solo stuff, Suede are generally close. Try 'Animal nitrate' which is a popular one.

Portishead -Tricky one this. I would say look at some fo Radioheads' rarer stuff. Stuff like 'Worrywort' from around Kid A and Amnesiac. Their forums have a bootleg CD called "The Foreign Legion" as part of their 'Bittersweet Distractors' collection which is this kind of stuff.

Radiohead- Never pictured you as a fan, but I can suggest stuff on this front. For crazy experimental stuff, look at Sonic Youth (although I'll be surprised if you've never done this before). Otherwise, logical progressions would be Arcade Fire and Blonde Redhead.

I'll leave the other two open- never heard of them.

Etheon do you know Can and the Soft Machine/Robert Wyatt? I'd imagine you do. If not listen to them. That's based on Captain Beefheart (only one from your first post I'm familiar with; I only have a fleeting knowledge of Zappa's work)

I'm not too keen on Captain Beefheart; like I said, it's...special. It's nice in a weird way, but I wouldn't listen to it day on end.

@holloway: Arcade Fire - checked. I'm from Montreal, so it'd be a shame if I didn't know them. I've heard of Sonic Youth, but I never really bothered looking them up. The other two (Meshuggah and Martyr) are heavy metal (weird riffs and heavy polyrythmic style).

And I can't suggest anything until you guys post something for yourself
